Years ago, they purchased this land, but the local "Council" claims that the Travellers do not have permission to park their mobile homes on the land. They sought an order to evict the people, and won in a High Court case.

Did you know this happened before, in 2009? Not only is the EPA an unconstitutional agency, this raid ought to show any left-winger-statist that giving government the power to stop peaceful transactions in order to block what they don't like will also give government the power to block peacefl transactions that THEY DO LIKE.

First, we know that nothing is ever really dead in gubment. A change in executive branch policy could revive this unconstitutional rule and have it enforced by the unconstitutional FCC (very Soviet of them, isn't it?)...

But this is a good move as it stands. The so-called "fairness doctrine" never had anything to do with fairness. It promoted the false idea that the federal gubment has a place in regulating the content of ideas broadcast over the airwaves. It was used to shake-down broadcasters and limit opposing points of view, and it hurt market incentives to provide for the audience what they wanted to hear.

For those who might be new to libertarian economics and philosophy, please take some time to watch this great, in-depth interview with Congressman Ron Paul. It was recorded by the NH Concord Monitor, which is filled with statists, and their ignorance actually fuels him to have to explain in even more detail. It turns out to be an excellent exchange!

Yes, a three judge panel ruled 2 to 1 Friday that the INDIVIDUAL MANDATE portion of the federal medical fascism law is unconstitutional. The majority said that this is a dangerous precedent, unseen in US history, and it could lead to other mandates, like the feds telling people they have to eat broccoli (was that a Bush I appointee?;)). They are correct in that, and also correct in stating that such a mandate is not specifically enumerated in the Constitution as a power granted the feds. But they show their inconsistency in not applying it in other cases. For example, if it is not a power granted to Congress to force people to pay for insurance, how is it Constitutional to force them to pay for a so-called (bogus) "Social Security Insurance" program?  And how about "Medicaid"?

Aww... So good to see police liking free speech. They're so cute when they're angry, aren't they?

So, what happens if you get approached by a "chatty" government cronie/thug/molester/porn-screener/"dutiful-employee" and you respond by asking him to tell you where he derives the constitutional authority to break the 4th Amendment? Is that considered trouble?

How about if you just keep your Ipod playing as he talks to you?

How about you pretend you're hard of hearing, just to piss him off?

Chances are, you're gonna have a problem.

This is the kind of thing that the book "More Guns, Less Crime" spells out clearly: when governments infringe on the individual right to keep and bear arms, they make it much easier for those intent on violence to carry out their plans.

Notice how this article from the statist NYT stresses how strange it is that the POLICE don't have firearms at the ready, while overlooking the fact that if any of the CIVILIANS had firearms, as they have a RIGHT to do, there would have been an even greater deterrent against attack. Isn't it amazing how statists seem to only see functions of their pet, gubment, as those to which people can turn? They completely overlook individuals themselves.

They hinge their decision on the word "reasonable", which is refered to in the Constitution, in the 4th Amendment, in which it is written:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

When an agent of the gubment does it, people can send in a postcard to express their "opinions" about the treatment. When a private individual turns the tables and does it to a TSA thug, she gets charged with sexual assault. It seems clear who holds the power, doesn't it?
