Months ago, Gardner Goldsmith mentioned that he was very suspicious about the claims often promoted on talk radio (through government/taxpayer funded ads) that one in 150 children has "autism". He said that those are only DIAGNOSES, and while these diagnoses are rising, what we used to consider autism is probably not increasing. The driving factor, Gard said, is likely education psychiatrists and others who can make more money by labeling a child "autistic". Autism is not a problem with a defined, scientific, genetic or chemical marker. It cannot be seen in physiological exams.
