From Agora Financial 5 Minute Forecast:
The U.S. government is “unlikely to recover” its $80 billion investment in GM and Chrysler, the Government Accountability Office suggested in a report yesterday. The GAO’s latest report claims the two companies would need to grow to a combined market cap of $121 billion for the Treasury (read: taxpayers and Chinese) to break even. No saying how much either company is worth now, as they aren’t publicly traded… but at their peaks, their combined market value was $94 billion.

I was flipping through the channels yesterday when I came across a NY City channel that was giving each of the Mayoral candidates a few minutes of airtime. The Libertarian candidate made his presentation and at the end said "Be seeing you", complete with the hand gesture.

DALLAS - A thief stole a Dallas SWAT officer's weapons and other items on Wednesday. The incident happened outside an apartment building on Fitzhugh Avenue, where the sergeant had parked his vehicle for about 5 hours. Officials said someone entered the unmarked Chevrolet Tahoe through the driver's side door and then broke into a heavy-duty safe inside the SUV.
Disorderly Conduct for hip-hop fast food order
Just read this story about how 4 Utah Teenagers rapped their order at a McDonald's in American Fork, Utah, and were cited for disorderly conduct.
This really blows my mind. Trespassing maybe, but disorderly conduct? Hardly. The effectively sang their order to the drive through attendant, and had criminal charges filed agains them. This is stupid, and is a telltale sign of the police state we live in.

Info on the charity Heifer.org
My wife came across this charity called Heifer.org. The group provides the poor with various types of livestock, teaches sustainable agricultural techniques, etc. Does anyone know anything about them? I'm a little worried because their website talks about "gender equality" and taking care of the earth...socialist buzzwords. However, it says that "gender equality" refers to encouraging womens' participation in decisions, education, etc. Anyway, I like the concept--it's like teaching someone to fish instead of giving them fish, but don't want to give a donation to a group whose real purpose is furthering a socialist agenda as so many charities do nowadays.

Question on "Public Service"
I've been studying the ideas of libertarianism and objectivism and I'm having an issue with this.
My university has several programs that offers some sort of community serivce either locally or internationally. I do like helping people, but I seem to face a moral dilemma whenever I think about actually volunteering.

I ping pretty good to the COD4 server, I live in southern CA. Maybe I'm going out on a limb, but if I ping 30-40 I'm not to far away from the box. At times I get blasted before I can even get a shot off, when I felt we both had an even shake on the deal. I immediately check to see their ping, and if it is relatively low, I shrug it off as just my mediocre PC. Honestly it is hard for me to actually believe people actually use wall hacks, or some other shit to help them win a freakin video game. I got bored w/ Mario brothers after I learned how to hop on that fuckin turtle a hundred times and get a shit load of 1-ups!
