sorry but that song made me think of when my parents would put on classical music when we all sat and ate dinner. I was still in the high chair, and it made me cry. Is that a tribute song to the next great depression? Oh and sorry, but what the fuck language was she speaking? ... or singing sorry...
I'm SO glad you like it! I just woke up after trying to watch an ep of "Fringe" on my computer, but I was so tired, I snoozed! Now I get to the LC site and see cool comments about the song from the 24th!
That's Goldfrapp! It's called "Eat Yourself", and it's from the most recent disc, "Seventh Tree", the fifth cut on it.
And it's so uncanny, so beautiful that I could listen to it a hundred times in a day and not tire of it's wonder. Incredible. Haunting and beautiful at the same time, as is Ms. Goldfrapp.
Here's a link to the video on Youtube, but I would suggest listening without any visuals first, then when you watch it on youtube, turn the vol down a little, the most popular version on youtube is slightly overmodulated.
I'm not a huge fan of Goldfrapp but this song is amazing. Thank you Gardner. And I love your podcast dude, I just started listening and it is mondo cool. You and FTL keep me content most of the time. ;]
Please. o_o
Yeah its a beautiful song
Seriously I need to know... Tell me or else... Or else.. OR ELSE I'LL... Whine for it some more!

Take it you were never a fan of the Cocteau Twins well neither was I but they were big with the indie crowd back in the 80s

She's incredible. Dave Vanian and I were talking about her, and he is pretty impressed as well.
My buddy Steve O'Brien tells me she has a studio not far from the center of Bath, which is a wonderful spot. I would live there instantly.
Here's a live version, recorded by someone's simple lil' cam, bt it shows her approach to singing. Incredible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TukfYSgarKs&feature=PlayList&p=3A6B4B778E...
I don't mind Goldfrapp on the whole but I prefer the likes of Portishead
