Oh No I Hear A Rumour About A Bill Hicks Biopic

I've heard there's a Bill Hicks biopic in the pipeline to be directed by Ron Howard & starring Russell Crowe.

I think Bill would be turning in his grave at the prospect.

Here you want find out about Bill Hicks you don't need a fucking biopic you just need to check out Bill Hicks in his own words.

The guy was practically a phophet as far as I'm concerned.

THX 1138

Just watched it last night - a trippy little debut from Gerogie Boy Lucas (of STAR WARS fame etc.).

Basic plot has a Robert Duval starring as THX 1138, a man who comes off his government prescribed meds in a futuristic hyper-nanny/ totalitarian state, where freedom is completely curtailed in every sense.

You all have got to see it! :)

Michael Jackson: "Just Beat It"

Michael Jackson may have had some catchy tunes, and, how shall we say this delicately... a distinct personality, but what I will most remember him for is

Anybody seen the entire series I've only seen the first couple of episodes which were engaging

Dragons Den Next Wednesday On BBC2

I guess explaining the premise of Dragons Den might sound burying to some but in fact Dragons Den delivers real drama.

Basically the premise is an entrepreneur pitches their business or idea for business to four venture capitalists who then ask questions & then decide whether to invest etc.

I love this programme because it does illustrate there is an entrepreneurial spirit alive in Britain & I know the series has been sold around the world there are versions in Canada & Australia as well as Russia & Nigeria.

I thought here in Britain the show might have been axed or put on hold due to recession & though it hasn't been it will be interesting to see how the attitude of venture capitalists has changed due to the present economic state

Torchwood Comes To BBC1 With A 5 Night Special

Torchwood comes to BBC1 with a 5 night special (yep 5 consecutive nights) & from the trailer it does look good if not somewhat of a rip off of The Village Of The Dammed.

I've heard that Russell T Davies is incorporating into the plot commentary on Zimbabwe, well if anybody deserves a good dose of satire its Robert Mugabe.

Lesbian Bed Death - I Know I Shouldn't Like

I know I shouldn't like this kind of stuff I'm way too old but there's something about these guys that reminds of how Goth rock use to be.

I don't like Nickelback nor Britney so double swipe oh yeah

best (or worse) of the Jacko Jokes

The Jackson family have just been on Sky news to say that they have not seen Michael this stiff since he watched Peter Pan.

It turns out that it was not a stroke that Michael Jackson died from in the children's ward. He choked on a small bone...

Michael Jackson was rushed to hospital tonight and it was touch and go until they took him out of the children's ward.

Reports of Michael Jackson dying of a heart attack in hospital are inaccurate. He was in a children's hospital having a stroke...

Yo Gabba Gabba

DJ Lance and the gang from Yo Gabba Gabba

Have any of you watched this show?  What a trip!  DJ Lance is a freaky looking black man with an orange track suit and fuzzy orange hat.  He's got himself some funky spectacles.  He comes out with his boom-box, which he opens up, and takes out these japanese monster dolls/ a la Godzilla (or for you art/wrestling fans Kai-ju Big Battel).

He places the little dolls in their habitats (they call them "lands").  And then they come to life.

Overt Liberty Message Music?

Hey guys, I'm new here, I called free talk live on 6/05/09 to ask Gard about overtly liberty oriented music. While we couldn't really think of very much he suggested I join up and see what you folks could come up with. So folks, any ideas?

Thanks a million.

Oh Shit Green Day Are Starting To Sound Like Queen

I've not listened to Green Day's new album in its entirety yet but having listened to the first few tracks my first thought is oh shit Green Day are sounding less like Stiff Little Fingers & more like Queen.

New York Dolls

STOP!!!  Before reading the rest of this post, you must first, in a new tab/window, open this link:

PROCEED:

I have an opportunity to see one of the earliest and seminal bands to comethat created the Punk sound, the New York Dolls.  They are playing in Salt Lake City on 30 May 2009.

I am wondering if it will be worth going to see them.  When bands re-form and are highly publicized, it seems that they lose a lot of what made them great.  For example, when you see a band like the Sex Pistols reform, and they play on Jay Leno (co-incidentally the same time Ron Paul was on), they didn't seem to have that intensity which initially drew me to them as artists.
