Culture in all its forms

Google Wave

A lot of people (when I say a lot, I mean between 20 and 50 people) in my twitter network have been asking for "Google Wave" invitations.  I didn't even know what google wave was.  So when I did a search (via goodsearch.com ) I came to a wikipedia article about it.

Aparently the whole notion of google wave came from watching Joss Whedon's television series "Firefly".  Google Wave developers use a whole parlance of Whedonisms, including references to my favorite, "Dollhouse".

Can Technology Stop Global Warming?

Here is an interesting article in the Missoulian .

Is it possible that technology will save the day with the problem of climate change just as the internal combustion engine solved the problem of what to do with the massive amount of horse manure back at the beginning of the twentieth century?

This is something I never even conceived of before reading this article.

I'll excerpt some of this article to illustrate my point.

Misfits/Halloweeen

I thought of it too late, I should have dressed up as a politician for Halloween!  I love Halloween for a few reasons, one it reminds me of the good times I've had on this day in the past.  Two, all of the hot chicks who dress up like fetish type whores, and three...

Remake of "V"

Anyone here like the original "V" from the 80's.  I see that there is a remake coming out pretty soon.

Libertarian musician: GHOSTWRITER

Guy is a total libertarian, doesn't sing about it in his lyrics though. Just thought somebody might be interested.

Sanctuary

I was interested in what liberty conspiracists thought of the sci-fi channel show Santuary. I think it's pretty good. What do you all think?

cloudy days

It's not raining, it is merely cloudy with the slight chance of scattered showers..  Although for some reason or another whenever it gets the slightest bit dreary outside I have a tendencie to crave delicious campbells tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, and Primus.

Truthers v/s Free Staters

Truthers v/s Free Staters

I have been seeing an awakening for some time now, I see people of all ages and cultures, whom are realizing the oppression, and tyranny.

Surprisingly I've only been flipped off once for having a 911 was an inside job sticker on the back of my car. Most of the time I get some younger person saying "where did you get that sticker dude?!" I love to see that too, the younger generation acknowledging government corruption, and actually having an interest in the matter.

There is also the happenings in New Hampshire with hardcore activists, practicing civil disobedience, and even working within the system. They are doing whatever it takes to regain liberty in their lifetime.

BBC DOCUMENTRY ON AUTISM PLEASE WATCH

AUTISM AND ME

Its no secret that I suffer from Aspersers Syndrome a form of autism which is a form of autism & so no surprise I'd ask people too watch a documentary on autism. I'd especially ask people to click on the above link & watch because I've tried to educate people on how being autistic handicaps me with the day to day.

Friday the 13th: The Series

One of my favorite scifi shows of all time was Friday the 13th:  The Series.  It was on for 3 seasons in the late 80's.  The show was virtually apolitical but one episode struck me.  Two of the characters go back in time to stop a professor who also went back in time to get artifacts/items which he would sell in the present.  In order to use the time machine, he would have to kill someone.  Anyway, the two heroes go back to the War Between the States.  They end up telling one of the Southern characters that they are from the present and that nobody thinks the less of them for withdrawing from the Union.  Except for the Outlaw Josey Wales, I don't think I have ever seen a mainstream movie or TV show that isn't 100% pro-Lincoln/pro-Civil War.

Moving Picture Institute

Hey guys. I was wondering if any of you know where to get the Moving Picture Institute movies from? I'm interested in many of them but none of the screenings are near me. Thanks for any help. If you don't know who they are, they can be found at www.thempi.org

"The Politics of Obedience" by Etienne de la Boetie

I can't tell you how awesome this book is.  The clarity of thought, and the unabashedly anti-state position is breathtaking, even over 400 years after it's writing.

Is Nick Love Capable Of Making A Film Not Aimed At Chavs

There are a multitude of talented British film directors who could produce a wealth of intelligent films if only they could get the financing.

But rather then financing intelligent scripts, great performers & intelligent directors, the British film industry finances Nick Love to make endless films about football hooliganism usually starring the ultimate Chav Danny Dryer.

Yep Nick Love has a new film out which is a remake of Alan Clark's The Firm. But when Clark made such films as Scum, Made In England & The Firm it was as means of illustrating the realities of Thatcher's Britain as means of criticism, Nick Love makes films such as The Football Factory which sensationalize & revel in the Chavy lad culture of hooliganism.

Fawlty Towers

Anyone here a Fawlty Towers fan?  John Cleese seems to be a dumb ass socialist in real life but he is absolutely brilliant in Fawlty Towers.
