Check Out These Creations by Fellow Free Marketeers! F. Paul WIlson's New "By the Sword", diLorenzo on "Government Volunteers"
It's HERE! The NEW Repairman Jack novel is now available!
F. Paul Wilson looks back to one of his best books, "Black Wind", and builds the tension for the man known only as Jack, in this new hardcover in the series. As Gard mentions in the cast for 10-14, it's one of the most engaging series of novels he's ever read. Buy it ASAP!
Also, Gard mentioned in the 10-14 cast a piece by Tom diLorenzo, the excellent economic historian. It's all about fraudulent government "volunteers", and it's great. Here is the link!

Alexander Hamilton's rancid idea of "internal improvements" writ large. Get "the state" involved in business, and this is the poisonous result.

Portrait of a Fool: Paul Crutzen Claims that Recession or Depression Will be Good for Environment
Take a look a this nonsense. As free market economists have noted, the thing that allows men to make their environments CLEANER is productivity -- getting more from your efforts and resources. With extra capital left over, people have a natural tendency to want to make their surroundings friendlier to health and well being (not "wellness"!). Then, of course, there's that little fact that, as people like Fred Singer have pointed out, increases in atmospheric carbon FOLLOW increases in temperature. They don't CAUSE them.

Auto Manufacturers and Wooden Arrow Makers (among others) Get Nice Payoff from Feds in Bailout Bill

Nothing like federal regulations being imposed on auto manufacturers, and then the taxpayers having their pockets picked by the feds to then give money to the auto manufacturers! So... Even if you DON'T own a car, welcome to your stake in Ford Motors!

US Senate Passes Pork-Laiden "Bailout" Bill Authorizing treasury to Spend $700 Billion - Moves to House
Despite the fact that Article One of the US Constitution only allows the House to originate spending bills (and this kind of spending is clearly not sanctioned in the first place!), the Senate (with Judd Gregg pushing it heartily) attached their version of the "TARP" bailout bill to an already existing resolution. Sneaky, huh... It passed, and will now go back to the House.
NH resident Kat Kanning's Trial Postponed, 25 Protesters Turn Out for Her, US Senate to Vote on Bailout, Bush OKs Spending Bill
Congratulations to Dave Ridley, Ian Freeman, and all the people who sent the word out about Kat Kanning's appearance at court for a "violation" where she had visited an IRS office holding a sign of protest against the system. The court admin changed the time, but the Free Staters and their friends got on top of it. Kat's real trial will be rescheduled. Here is Dave Ridley's report. Thanks, Dave! http://freekeene.com/2008/09/30/slimy-feds-reschedule-kat-kannings-trial...

Glenn's site is remarkable, and so is his writing.
Don't know how he fits it all in, given his busy schedule, but this piece is a terrific lesson in free market economics. Couldn't come at a better time. Take a look and then tell Glenn we sent ya!
