S 510 - Giving FDA MASSIVE POWERS, Likely to Pass Tues

This is unsettling. Not only is it another example of the federal gubment over-stepping its constitutionally prescribed powers (through a broad and unjustified enterpretation of the interstate commerce clause), it will have the effect of allowing the FDA to force small farmers and home growers to have to fill out reams of paperwork regarding their food growing, harvesting, storage and shipping. It will also put at risk many folks who use seeds not "approved" by the Feds. The FDA would be given broad powers to sht down food sales anywhere. ANYWHERE.

Nice, huh?

SUMBIT, the federal government is here to protect you from liberty!

S 510 "Food Safety Modernization Act" Could Get Final Vote Next Week

We'll discuss this on an upcoming audio. It's a very pernicious bill -- just like most of the bills these jerks propose and pass.

It would give teh FDA (an unconstitutional agency) sweeping power to regulate small farms and individual growers in their own fields or plots of land. I twold force individual growers and members of Farmers' markets to have to file federal safety paperwork. It would makd it potentially illegal to hold seeds for personal use, it would allow the FDA to send "inspectors" to your home to check on your garden, and woudl allow the FDA to stop sales of your products, without any kind of hearing or trial. Check out these sites for information on the bill and then contact the Seantors from your state to tell them to stuff this bill up their corn-holes.

TSA Thugs Cry over "Dirty" Passengers...

A fun way to mess with them would be to wear intentionally soiled pants, with a change of pants in your pack. Dirty the pants with rotten meat in the pockets, old eggs, smears of stinky old milk... and then, when the TSA thugs grope you, keep leaning into their faces, letting them have plenty to smell.... Mmm-M! Soup is Good Food!

Here's the whining of the TSA:

Incredibly Authoritarian Aspects of Fed Medical Law Begin

If you can wade through the nonsense of the first five or six paragraphs of this piece, check out the meat of what the new regulations do to health insurance companies. The law stipulates that 85% of all PRIVATE insurance company profits be dedicated to certain business activities rather than advertising or profit. This is a shocking part of an already disgusting law, an aspect that truly shows the face of this authoritarian move by the feds. Your insurance bills are going to skyrocket.

Al Gore Finally Admits: Ethanol Subsidies Are Dumb - How Many Years Late is He?

Even as he says this, Congress is pushing another $5 Billion in Ethanol subsidies... RIGHT NOW.

How many years have we been saying Ethanol is a net energy LOSER due to the amount of energy it requires to sow and reap the corn and then distill the corn oil?

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/gore-admits-he-was-wrong-about-ethanol-s...

He's finally admitting, "the energy conversion ratios are very small..." We talked about this in 2005. We talked about how the push by the gubment to buy more ethanol and to force more of it into our gas pushes the price of corn, and all products tied to corn (such as beef and pork and foodstuffs sweetened with corn sweetener) up, up, up!

Duh. Is that the correct word?

Statist Shill Krugman Endorses Fed Death Panels, Still Won't Accept Debate Challenge.

Even as Robert Murphy waits for Krugman to debate him on economics, the NYT editorialist and so-called economist continues to spout verbal offal in favor of the state. In this case, it's not just moronic nonsense promoting Keynesian inflationary policies. He's becoming more overt in his support of federal death panels. Take a look at this vid:

World Bank Cats Try a New Approach for Single International Currency

Treasury Yields Tumble As Fed Buys and Inflates

No duh, of course, but one interesting thing to note here is what Peter Schiff has said about the reason the Fed is buying the t-bills. As we have noted in our audios, there has been a lot of chatter in poltical circles about so-called "deflation", which is bogus. The dollar has already been inflated and lost (on average) at least two percent of its buying power annually since the creation of the Fed (and that's compouned yearly, by the way). The only reason the dollar still buys anything is thanks to the productivity of people, which provides us the opportunity to get things for less.

San Fran Gubment Bans Happy Meals!

Not only is this an immoral imposition of government between consenting participants in a voluntary exchange, it is also unconstitutional (a breach of the Contract Clause) and assumes that adults are somehow FORCED to buy the food for their kids.

Then there's the other insane assumption, which is that McDonald's food is going to make kids fat. It's called intake of calories nd expenditure of calories. How one gets the calories doesn't make much difference.

Once again, Marx's old canard that the "owners of the means of production MAKE people buy things" is accepted by poitical busy-bodies.

GOP Surge in House Will Mean Little

Despite the excitement expressed by many "Tea Party" members and traditional conservatives, the massive sweep of nearly all House elections across the US, and of many Senate races, means little policy-wise. The leftist socialists still control the Senate. This means no substantive changes will be made on any social spending programs. However, we might possibly see the Tea Party antipathy for "illegal" immigration push new, more stringent and anti-constitutional immigration laws, with the complicity of the Dems, who will want to "appeal" to the populist sentiment out there (especially among those Senators from southern states).

Fannie and Freddie Might Get TWO TIMES MORE $!

And, of course, they helped inspire the housing bubble by being the ready-made consumer of bundled (CRAP) mortgage securities.

If some pinhead tells you the reason the economy is in such a bad state is because there wasn't enouth government oversight or involvement in the financial and housing sectors (which are tied together, obiously), please explain to them what the term "moral hazard" means, and explain to them that the bad loans were inspired by government policies ranging from the Community Reinvestment Act to Redlining, to the very existence of the Federal Reserve, Savings insurance, and Fannie and Freddie. It's appalling that reporters don't actually see how clearly these government moves created this trouble.
