A while ago I was reading the forums at a very fun book website called bookcrossing.com. I came across a message posted by CynthiaA. In it she talks about how her friend (who works for a Canadian publisher) feels that people that use websites to acquire free books are going to cost her the job she loves. CynthiaA's friend had sent a link to a New York Times piece that contends increases in efficiency in the secondhand book market are causing problems throughout the publishing industry.

Too bad the CBO cats didn't mention the inflationary spiral the "stimulus" will cause.

Ahh, yes... Nothing like the sweet smell of freedom in the morning. Or is that Napalm we smell? Yes, it's the latter, burning up liberty, the Constitution (which are not always one and the same, of course), and economics. Even though Repairman Jack doesn't really fix appliances, we sure could use his services to fight the baddies in DC right now.

Someone needs to ask F. Paul Wilson if politicians have a lot of "O-DNA", 'cause the "otherness" they exhibit is pretty scary! (Lil' reference to his novels there, in case you're wondering...)

Barack Obama said in an editorial today that if his "stimulus" package was not passed, the United States might enter into an economic downturn out of which it might never rise. Soooo... What kinds of things is he recommending, in addition to the overall breach of the US Constitution, the retardation of real productivity, the incredible burden of debt, the movement of productive money into non-productive endeavors, and the inflationary pressures the increase in government-created money will inspire? Hmmm.. Well, how about these as a small sample?

Some "bullitt" points, from Steve McQueen:

- The expansion will, just like the creation of the program, impose higher taxes on tobacco products, and funnel that booty into state governments, giving the governors (like Howard Dean and Jeanne Shaheen) the ability to claim they "got" kids health insurance.

- People 400% above the "poverty" line have been able to sign on to the program, which gives partial handouts to them. It inspires people at these various levels to drop their own personal-family health insurance coverage in favor of the government system.

First it was like, "Woah." Then it was like, 'Woah!". And then it was like, "Woahhhh..."

Jerome Corsi has written a very interesting piece at World Net Daily, in which he lays out the details of an under-reported federal proposal to build numerous "emergency" centers to house displaced families during natural disasters/terror attacks.

Clearly, these sites are unconstitutional, and, further, they have the potential to act like the internment camps for Japanese Americans in WWII, or the Nazi Concentration Camps. As we've often said, the idea that government should "protect" people leads to these kinds of outcomes. It is inevitable.

So, you were repulsed by Tom Daschle's hipocrasy when it comes to telling people they need to cough up more tax cash, while he evades the taxes himself. Right on.

But now the details of Tommy's "special dealing" are coming to the fore. Isn't it nice that a guy who works in such honest ways might be placed in a position to further break the US Constitution and come up with a "national health care plan"?

For those who suffer from MS, and those who greatly care about them, this is a huge piece of news.

Socialized medicine is one of the most pernicious forms of the doctrine that we must be forced to be "our brother's keeper" - and hence we must all be "kept".

This is important stuff, and reflects another open-ended, unwarranted, interpretation of the inter-state commerce clause of the US Constitution.

There is no constitutional or economic reason for the federal government to be in any way associated with, or in control of, the radio spectrum.

CABAL members have likely read Gardner's lengthy piece explaining the history of how the federal gubment got invovled in regulating the spectrum and its "content". Soon, Gard will produce special casts to go out to your ipods, and in the casts he'll explain the anti-freedom history of the FCC (originally known as the FRC -- the "Federal Radio Commission"), and the free market approach to the radio spectrum.

If we could only grab the TARDIS and go back to the days of the Constitutional Convention, then STOP them from forming the federal gubment!
