Funny, that, since that is precisely what has been happening in the past two years. To maximize efficiency, one doesn't need to turn to government.

The big news today is that President Obama has signed an executive order that will make many so-called "conservatives" very upset. He is ordering the closure of Gitmo within one year. He is also ordering "all US employees" (including the CIA) to stop waterboarding, a technique that is seen world-wide as torture.

Not unexpected, but if they keep on this course, it spells big trouble for the economy. Is it that they WANT oil prices to go up again, spurring the strained consumers to call for "government" solutions to the "market problem" that isn't such? Will this be used as a lever to push the justification of "alternative fuel funding"?
