Giant Catfish Faces Extinction: A Fish Story?
It is unknown how many Mekong Giant Catfish there are in existense according to my soon to be released audio production on this topic. I make reference to this blog post a couple of times in that audio, so I'm posting it in advance.
The audio is derived from two videos that I encountered.
Will U.S. Force WA, CO To Comply With Convention on Psychotropic Substances?

I read an article posted by Cathy Smith (the wife of Sci-fi writer L. Neil Smith) which posited that Obama will force Colorado and Washington states to comply with U.N. treaty.
UK Libel Law Gets an Update, Hampers Privacy
I hope to discuss this with Gardner on Monday's Show, 2013-05-13. I hope we get a chance to.
European Union Wants to Regulate Growing of All Fruits and Veggies?

Yeah I know this seems a bit far fetched, but I think this is something that warrants further discussion. I'll be modifying this post as I prepare to discuss this with Gard.

The following was originally posted as a guest post on Heather's Harmony, a travel blog. Go there for interesting insights into a person planning to escape from the United States.
Book Review: L. Neil Smith's "Ceres"
Ceres is the most recent installment of the Ngu family saga. The Ngu's were spawned by human Martian settlers, who clashed with United Nations forces sent from Earth to quash dissent. The Ngu's went on to settle other worlds. It helps a bit if you have a cursory knowledge of the solar system's geography, as Smith's creative universe extends from planet Earth, to the dwarf planets of Pallas and Ceres (in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter).
Dolphins Propose No Swim Zone for Nutria in Exchange For Citizenship: An Interspecies Defense Pact

I've had an illuminating evening. I've gone all over town with my children by myself (three different stores with some amazingly great kids who handled the excursion amazingly well). We all work together to get what we want. We even offered gold as payment (see interactive map)
A Review of David Moody's Hater.

"Hater," by David Moody was selected as freedombookclub.com's Book of the Month for October 2010. It was recommended to the club by participant and horror novelist Wayne Simmons.
Starfish Prime: Ecological and Technolgical Disaster!
Brought to you by the people that caused the Dust Bowl (through misguided homesteading acts).

How the Liberty Dollar Showed Me That Uncle Sam is a Blackout Drinking Wifebeater
Back in 1997 my brother and I worked together at a bagel shop. Every payday, we would gleefully go back to the local bank to cash out checks. We would gloat over our seemingly massive amounts of "Power Units." We had been told all our lives that our money was backed by GOLD. Wasn't the gold stored in Fort Knox what was providing the power to our "power units"?
U.S. Gov’t to Crackdown on Garage Sales?
When I read the headline to this McClatchy News Service Article I just about blew my top. What is it about those meddling bunglers in Washington that makes them so eager to regulate every activity (including that of the sun)?

CABAL BLOG!: Second Hand Books vs. Second Hand Food: The Disparity Between Ideas Protected By Intellectual Property - By Furb
A CABAL BLOG POST!, by FURB:
A while ago I was reading the forums at a very fun book website called bookcrossing.com. I came across a message posted by CynthiaA. In it she talks about how her friend (who works for a Canadian publisher) feels that people that use websites to acquire free books are going to cost her the job she loves. CynthiaA's friend had sent a link to a New York Times piece that contends increases in efficiency in the secondhand book market are causing problems throughout the publishing industry.
