I've heard you object to patents and other intellectual property at Liberty Forum but never got the reasons.  I've read heart-rending articles about families torn apart when one member sues someone or is sued over an alleged infringement, but that is a personal issue, or an issue of "the big guy throwing his weight around - just because he can."

 

As a person who has the utmost respect for the Constitution, surely you realize that such protection is there.  From Article I, section 8: "To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8708115.stm A woman has refused to undergo cancer treatment is now being forced to undergo cancer treatment because supposedly she doesn’t have the intellectual capacity to make to make a valued judgement as to what’s best for her. Of course what is being meant by a valued judgement is a valued judgement in opinion of others & not her own opinion, in fact the means of her reaching a decision on what’s best for her is now being used against her. Its her body, her health, her lier life, her decision to make on what’s best for her 7 nobody else’s.

Can libertarians lay off the "bombing or hating brown people" quips

When it comes to the issues of immigration  I hear many libertarians accuse opponents of free migration of being racists.  They usually use the quip, "you don't like brown people".  And when it comes to the issue of foreign interventionism, they likewise use the quip "bombing brown people".  These quips are cute and communicate to others that we're not racists, but they are counterproductive.

Gender and Age Discrimination

With the MSM grasping at straws to discredit Rand Paul I want to know if can bring lawsuits against Curves and Lucille Roberts because they are gyms that only give memberships to women? Senior housing is my next target because of their ageist leasing policies. I should have a right to work out in any gym I want to because they opened their business to the public and I shouldn't be kicked out of Planet Fitness either for dropping weights or grunting while lifting them.

You Can now (partially) Blame Me Guys

The Lib Dems a party whom I’ve been a member of & supported for over 15 years have now agreed to go into coalition government.

Other then the national coalition governments during the depression & the Second World War, this is the first time the liberals have been in power since the 1920s when there last was a Liberal/Conservative coalition led by David Lloyd George, who in himself was known as a radical liberal in his time.

I’m excited & apprehensive at the same time.

I guess many of the reforms that I’ve campaigned for will now be implemented but I’m sure in time I’ll have criticisms that those reforms won’t go far enough.

I know you guys will have criticisms well you can blame me.

Fire management on privately owned property

I'm currently working on a capstone project for a masters degree in natural resource management. Im proposing in my thesis that private ownership of public lands (e.g. national and state forests) would provide better fire management, remediation, and sustainability than government can provide. Needless to say, I look forward to hearing what fellow conspirators have to say, and would appreciate any suggestions you all might have. I'm particularly interested in hearing from property owners that have had to deal with fire issues and how they managed them.

Gard in his talk with Ziggy stated that we should not keep any cultural heritage sites unless preserved by the citizens not the Government.

 

I therefore propose that the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia be sold for Scrap.

 

It is worth about $3500 as scrap and must cost thousands per year in up keep, so scrap it.

 

I mean it is just a lump of metal and hold no significant cultural heritage.

 

IF the citizen want to preserve it then they should step up.

I keep seeing videos on YouTube and people mentioning Zeitgeist and the Venus project, and i was a little worried about this, because it appears to be kind of popular, and it looks like some high-tech communism. It has me worried a bit, because many people believe "capitalism" is the cause of the financial crisis. What Gard Cut Out Of The Last Pod About the Lib Dems

I do genuinely appreciate that Gard cut down the conversation we recorded on Monday evening into palatable sections; however in the process the Gard did cut out a point I made about why libertarians should check out the Liberal Democrats & so I’ll post here & now.

The single treason why I’d encourage libertarians do check out the Liberal Democrats is that for decades since the time of David Lloyd George the party ethos & therefore the party policies have reflected a commitment to the devolution of power.

Libertarians might not find it ideal, but the world isn’t ideal & its better that the power of governance is held closer to the man in the street then higher up the hierarchical.
