How utterly sad.

I used to think not too long ago that Walter Williams was heroic. You would think as a non-white he would actually get how people with different skin colors got treated back in the day. I guess subbing for Rush Limbaugh sucked some of that good freedom loving stuff right out of him. I hope it left his soul behind so he can get in touch with it and someday come to his senses. If not he's only good for being out there screaming along side the tea-baggers who yell for a crocodile & barbed wire filled moat to be dug on the southern border.

Life goes on folks and I'll still got plenty of heroic people I look up to who absolutely love freedom & liberty. They know who they are and don't ever dare to compromise their beliefs for political expediency, so I have no doubt whatsoever where they stand.

Thanks to each and every one of you.

These measurements may not mean much to you, but the insertable measurement just might. You’ll be pleased to know that while this SparXXrX® bullet is small it is mighty as well. sparxxrx

Here's a post from a thread I started some time ago.

http://libertyconspiracy.com/forum/walter_williams_no_friend_liberty

Here's some links to some of his more egregious foreign policy stands.

This one start outs quoting the founders but follows with this:

"Instead, the plain message to terrorists should be that if you attack the United States you will pay the ultimate price. And the message to countries who harbor or assist terrorists is that a heavy, unacceptable price will be exacted. We will ruthlessly take out your infrastructure, kill tens of thousands of your people and turn your productive capacity into a basket case."

No true supporter of liberty would ever utter these words.

Relinquish liberty for the purposes of defense in an emergency?
Why? It would seem that in an emergency, of all times, one needs
his greatest strength. So if liberty is strength and slavery is weakness,
liberty is a necessity rather than a luxury, and we can ill afford
to be without it—least of all during an emergency.

If you get the chance, read Glenn Jacob;s piece, which is a respectful, but pointed response to the argument made by Dr. Williams...

I think Walter Williams should hang out with George Clinton (the founding father of psychadelic funk, not this George Clinton  ).  That would make him a whole lot cooler, in my estimation.

Here are my comments from townhall.com (neocon central):

Dr. Williams is confused about the libertarian position on immigration. Let me first address the legal question that he brought up. Immigrations laws are unconstitutional and therefore illegal. Nowhere in the Constitution is the gov't given the power to pass immigration laws unless they apply to the original 13 states.[Thanks Gard] From a natural rights point of view, there is no crime committed when a person moves from one country to another. No one's rights are violated.

Here is the hardcore libertarian position.

1)No governmental restrictions on the movement of people

2)Enforcement of property rights. Immigrants may not trespass on private land

3)No welfare. That includes public schools and medical care

4)No citizenship. Residency does not imply citizenship. According to the Constitution, non-citizens have the same rights (with the exception of voting) as citizens.

5)No national ID.

That said, even though I wouldn't support it, Arizona can pass immigration laws under the 10th Amendment.

I hope that clears things up. I hate when libertarians get lumped in with the Establishment "open borders" crowd.

Immigration controls=Socialism Let me preface my comments by stating that I don't think that opponents of immigration (legal or not) are racists. That's what liberals and some of my fellow libertarians think or say.

I think the level of immigration should be determined by the free market. I'm at a loss why so many conservatives support socialist central planning when it comes to this issue. Nobody knows how many immigrants are needed by businesses.

I would like to reiterate that I do not support citizenship for immigrants, like many leftists do. As long as immigrants cannot vote to take away our liberties, there is nothing to fear from them.

I also hear a lot of conservatives say that we should punish businesses who hired illegal immigrants. Do you really want the government to be in the position to tell businesses who they may or may not hire? What happened to private property?

Wake up. You are being used to make government bigger. The immigration issue is being used to bring about a national ID.
