Tales from the Conspiracy

A civilian national security force as well funded as the military?

Quote President Obama:

"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we have set. We've got to have a civilian national security force: just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded."

Now this is already confusing as Obama's Attorney General likes to take people's guns away from them to simply protect their homes and families, but he claims to want a civilian national security force as well run as our military. At minimum, can we even afford that?

My guess would be no, but here is what Judge Napolitano had to say.

Harry Reid Arrives at "Green Conference" w/ Fleet of SUVs

I saw that Gard posted this story http://apps.detnews.com/apps/blogs/watercooler/index.php?blogid=667

It ain’t the first time that bigwigs have pulled this kind of hypercritical bullshit

Here’s a few observations I made in relation to the Copenhagen conference last December

Well so much for "freedom of speech"...

A young UK man sent an email to Obama, criticizing him over his health care plan, and was banned for life from entering the USA. It kind of makes you wonder what they would have done if said email was sent by an American.

This guy has stirred quite a fracas in the media here off the back of the US story in the weekends media.

Wow. First no guns, now no pot. This guy Holder is a buzzkill.

I've never smoked maraijuana and don't plan to. Still, I will never understand what it is that people like Eric Holder plan to accomplish by controlling peoples lives. So, some people like to stay home, smoke weed and get high....so what? The sun will still come up tomorrow and I don't see why what people do in their home is any of his business.

Question

Hello everyone. :) New forum member and fairly new to the Libertarian movement.

As I've done some reading, and a lot of podcast listening, I've cemented myself into the liberty way of thinking. It's been wonderful to finally find a political movement that I can fully get behind. But, naturally, the more I learn I occasionally have a question, and I have, quite literally, never met another libertarian here to converse with or ask. I tried to start a lib student group when I was in college, got zero responses aside from the occasional, "yea, good luck with that," So, I thought I'd come here and ask.

Get use to Greenies pointing guns at your head

James J Lee obviously was a nutcase but so are many greenie authoritarians; the only difference being that where as James j Lee egregiously committed aggression in person, greenie authoritarians would get the government to commit egregious aggression when people do not comply with their eco authoritarian dogma.

Do I Have A Right To Rule Others

I started a thread over in Thom Hartmann's forum, called Do I Have A Right To Rule Others.

Here's the question with which I started the thread:

Let's take a hypothetical scenario:  Joe runs a stand where he sells hamburgers and fries those of his neighbors who have a taste for such things.  I am not a customer of Joe's, but I am concerned for the health of his customers, I think that Joe should post a sign that shows the nutritional information of his burgers.  Let's say I suggest this to Joe, but he's not particularly interested.  What sort of authority do I have to force Joe to do what I want?  Would it be moral for me to try to do so?

Defending McShite

in response to the last podcast about proposing thegovernment controls eating habits you might be interested in something I wwrote sometime ago on the issue

Defending McShite

don’t need anybody to munch their way thorough the McDonalds menu to tell me that if you constantly eat McDonalds it ain’t going to be good for you.

I really don’t need a 90 minute documentary where Morgan Spurlock eats McDonalds for an entire month to prove McDonalds sells shite.

The Pope is coming & we are paying for it!

http://www.zigsterreport.com/?p=196

What bemuses me about the Pope’s visit to Britain is that why is the British taxpayer paying for his visit. If atheists in Spain wanted Richard Dawkins to visit they’d pay for his trip not the Spanish government via the Spanish taxpayer.  i doubt any government is going to lay on a state visit for Richard Dawkins so why should any government do the same when it comes to the pope.

Obama’s security it costs more to the US taxpayer then you’d initially think

On 9/11 it was not Bush & members of his administration who were harmed; likewise with 7/7 it was not Blair & members of his cabinet who were killed. On both those occasions it was Mr & Mrs Average who were harmed, it was Mr & Mrs Average whose taxes pay for the security for the political leaders of their respective countries & because those leaders were cushioned by having a heavy security deployment around then, it enabled them to go to war which created blowback upon Mr & Mrs Average.

Why government financing broadband expansion is a very baaad idea

It might sound very  positive for government to subsidise to subsidise the expansion of broadband to rural areas, but in regards to individual liberty it’s a very bad idea to have government involved with the infrastructure of the internet.

Firstly having government subsidise the roll out of broadband infrastructure is a corporatist ploy; basically the government subsidises the roll out of broadband & then the internet service providers profit for the government paying for broadband infrastructure. Put another way the tax payer would cough up for what the internet service providers would profit from.

TO THOSE WHO MAY USE PIRATE BAY…DON'T!!!

I know there are folk who like me who use µTorrent & therefore most probably visit Pirate Bay. Due to getting torrents from Pirate Bay I’ve been hit by two really nasty viruses in a week requiring me to system restore in safe mode.
