Boy, was I surprised today to find a donation solicitation from Joe Arpaio.  Arpaio is running to be re-elected as sheriff of Maricopa country (Phoenix), Arizona.  I live in Tennessee.

Sheriff Joe's letter chronicled his battles against illegal immigrants, Mexican drug cartels, and ultra-left Obama radicals who claim that the good sheriff is a Nazi.

Ahh, nothing like that "change" the Obama-ites promised. So different than the Bushie threats to civil liberties, huh?

Eva is probably not opposed to the state in general, yet all of the problems she describes have at their root regulations imposed on free people who might want to get married, and assumptions made by people about the benefits state-sanctioned marriage provides. Many of us in the Conspiracy are familiar with his work. El G Grande was a big fan as a kid, and often did impressions of him on the radio (one wonders if anyone else did it, too!!).

After reading Nathan Tucker's review of Tom Wood's book Nullification, I am struck by Tucker's use of the term "We the People."  How is it that supposed individualists (as Tucker claims to be), can use this collectivist term?  I guess I'm so far gone that I no longer even know what "We the People" means.  How is it that 300 million individuals can be lumped together into a purported homogenous monolith with a will all its own? 

Strange, how the government changing the rules for these people who couldn't afford homes in the first place hasn't seen them improve their situations. One might think that, perhaps, their homes are WAY over-valued, and need forclosures to occur to lower the prices, and that the government should stop messing with how the market naturally deals with the bogus bubble of government-inspired housing demand.

But hey, we're just people who believe in FREEDOM, God forbid anyone actually not be screwed with in the housing industry or any other endeavor! We need the nanny state to fix things for us, like... they... um... haven't done in the housing field.

Not as if we didn't already know they did this kind of thing, but now it seems that the pop media have noticed.

Again, we must reiterate that when supposed "rights" run up against spheres of government control, the government will "regulate" them away.

Try to carry a gun onto a plane. You supposedly have Second Amendment rights which can't be touched by gubment, buuut, since the feds took over the airways (in a clearly unconstitutional manner beginning in the 1920's), your right to self-protection is regulated away.

Try to record video in many courtrooms. Nope. Yet, we've been told the gubment cannot restrict journalism...
