Socialized Medicine on Its Way - Invasion of Privacy, Destruction of Private Contract, $1 Trillion in Debt Part of the "Deal"

Funny, we didn't buy into this "deal"...

Here's a little quote:

Calling them "naysayers," "fear-mongers" and peddlers of "Trojan horse" falsehoods, Obama warned interest groups, lobbyists and others against using "fear tactics to paint any effort to achieve reform as an attempt to socialize medicine."

Yeah, we'd hate for those who actually run their businesses in the health sector to actually speak out about things that frighten them. Best to not pay aaaaany attention to those voices, President O.

Obama/Geithner Financial Regulatory Scheme Will Give Federal Reserve Massive Power

Not only will the Fed be able to use "its" discretion to hand out money to businesses that are "too big to fail", the Treasury will be able to "regulate" more financial products, ie, they will continue to mess with credit card rates and issuance, in addition to regulating banks even more than they do. Anyone tried to move money from a savings out to a checking account more than three times in a month? Yeah, that's right, your checking account will be shut down thanks to federal regulations.

Nothing like freedom.

CABAL Blog - "The Monster of Modern Mutation: Rights" - by Gardner Goldsmith

The Monster of Modern Mutation: "Rights"

June 2009

P. Gardner Goldsmith

There has been a series of disastrously erroneous statements recently made by politicians and political commentators concerning so-called "rights" and what the political class deems the necessary and equal provision of them by government. In that light, some advocates of small government have correctly observed that the very definition of the term "right" has been twisted, corrupted like a wayward child on the mean streets of Victorian London, turned into something that flips the relationship between man and government on its head.

Federal "Reserve" Cannot Account for $15 Trillion! Anyone Think This Is a Low Estimate?

Mises was right, Milton Friedman was wrong. The existence of government-created money, or a government-backed monopoly for money issuance is not only immmoral, it is economically destructive.

Massive New Food Fascism Bill Will Increase Costs Substantially

You like your local farm stand? Good luck finding one in a few years. The big guys love this, because they have profit margins that can absorb these costs. The little guys don't, and don't have the equipment or manpower to make the changes as easily as the big guys.

More Brazen Unconstitutionality from Congress: New limits on Cigarette Content and Advertising -- UGH!

Of course, this nanny-state mentality is supported with the bogus argument that "we all pay" for smokers when we go to the doctor or hospital.

Thanks to the semi-socialized health industry,  and government regulations that force doctors to pass costs on to  people who REALLY pay their bills, we DO pay for others, and now that they've got us by the neck, they want to impose MORE fascist regs. Wonderful.

Too bad they didn't look at how much smokers SAVE the semi-socialized health industry by DYING early before they take up all sorts of long-term old-age care and more social security payments. But whatever, why should we be talking about it anyway, it's unconstitutional.

And since it is unconstitutional, it won't be made law, right? (dot, dot, dot...)

Fraudulent "Conservative" Senator Judd Gregg Writes Op-Ed Calling for Govt. Fascism in Health Insurance Field

Yeah, so this bird-brain -- and yes, we ARE using ad-hominim attacks, because this guy is so tiresome -- issues an op-ed that's given the title "Health Reform Possible without Growing Government". But in the FIRST paragraph, he says "every American will be required to purchase meaningful health insurance"!!!!!

Indeed, Juddy, that's a totally constitutional, perfect way to NOT increase the power of government over people. It's not tyrannical in ANY WAY.

Jerk.

The Spiral Curves Deeper: As Predicted by Free Market Economists, US Treasuries Drop, Russian Gov. Might Shift to IMF Bonds

Anyone who noticed a few months ago that the Fed was going to start buying long-term US T Bills knew this was going to happen at the beginning of June. The US bonds are not seen as good investments now, and this lack of foreigners propping up US debt will increase the speed of the oncoming crash. The Fed members are going to try to make up for the lack of foreign investment by buying the long-term bonds, but that's just a shell game; they get paid with money printed by the treasury or tax money or with money the US treasury gets from, yeah, you got it, the FED!

Government Facilitated and Managed GM Dealership Shut-Down Shows Political Shiftiness Against Parents of FoxNews Hostess

Gretchen Carlson's folks own a GM dealership that has been one of the most successful and profitable in their region. Yet they are seeing it shut down, effecting many other businesses dependent on them, while an unprofitable GM dealership is bein kept open by the gubment.

Both the GM shut-downs and the upcoming Chrysler shut-downs are starting to look like those "military base closings" we've seen over the past decade, wherein the politicians make politically driven decisions about what closes and what stays open. Nice to see the market at work, isn't it?

Bailed Out Banks Ready To Pay Back with Whose Money?

Take a look at this quote:

"Through cheap loans, debt guarantees and a promise that big banks will not be allowed to fail, these officials say the government has created an artificial environment in which profits and stock prices have rebounded, helping banks in recent weeks to raise about $50 billion from private investors.... As a result, independent experts warn that the government's relationship with the industry is entering a precarious new phase."

Obama to Unveil 600,000 New PRODUCTIVE Jobs, in ... Parks and Stuff...

Hooray! We're saved! Thank you bicycle repairman!

(Litle ref to Python, there)

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0609/23467.html

Yeah, so... How about discussing the jobs that could have been created if people had been able to keep their money and spend it on what they wanted to better their lives?

By definition, government can only destroy. In order to function it must first take money from people, stopping them from spending it as they would see fit, and stopping a betterment of their lives, which can only be defined by THEM, not government.

Perhaps Obama should read Bastiat's "Fallacy of the Broken Window"

Feds Buying MILLIONS of Pounds of US Made Dry Milk and Butter, to Prop Up Prices for Farmers and to....

... make it more expensive for consumers to buy milk products. Nothing like the classic MO of gubment taking peoples' tax money to buy something the people aren't buying 'enough of" in the eyes of the politicians. Since there is an abundance of milk products out there compared to the demand, the price should be going DOWN for consumers. In a free market, such low demand forces suppliers to change their production levels, decreasing the supply to better reflect the demand, and allowing the farmers' resources in time and labor, etc., to be better applied to other endeavors.

Chrysler Bailout-Bankruptcy-Purchase Held in Stasis for Court Challenge

In this case, it is the "secured" creditors (the parties that actually hold bonds or other items representing collateral) who are claiming that the assets are going to UNsecured creditors, like, oh, what a surprise, the UNIONS!

Again, this reflects one of the major problems with the work of the Founders, they gave the federal gubment the power to influence bankruptcy and did not leave it to private arbitration and the free market.
