Happy Birthday
We have a birthday tomorrow. Citizen X is turning...50...I think.
But, be nice to him, he's not old he's just...youthfully challenged. It's too bad the Liberty Dollar folded. I bet he could have got a senior discount on the Ron Paul piece. :)
Anyway, Happy Birthday, dude.
The government continues to try to control your kids!
So, first, governments want to force your kids to eat school luches...barring parents from having ultimate control over what their children eat.
You didn't think they were gonna stop there, did you? They have lives during the summer that need to be controlled!
The city of Albany has barred games like red rover, freeze tag, wiffle ball, dodge ball and kick ball from summer camps hoping to up enrollment.

The Cosby podcast, what jumped out at me......
OK so I checked out the Cos podcast. The one thing that really jumped out at me was Cosby's comment (referring to colleges in low rent neighborhoods) that "if you are in the neighborhood you're part of the problem". I have nothing against encouraging people to help out, but this is a mindset. You are born guilty. The common good of the community has a claim on you. Even if you are minding your own business, not harming anybody, simply existing you are a problem. How much human tradgedy has resulted from this thinking?

State Contract time, my favorite clause
Yes it's that time of year when I will be signing a contract with the state. This is the first time I have ever used their regular tedious contract and bidding process. There is part of one clause in there that is cracking my ass up and I thought I would share:
42. TERMINATION FOR CONVENIENCE
This contract may be terminated, in whole or in part, by the State whenever, for any reason, the State determines that such termination is in the best interest of the State.
I put the same thing in my own contracts, but as a two way street. Either party can get out. I guess when you hold all the cards true reciprocity is not needed is it.
National Guard gets long time employee fired.
This is so dumb.
So, the National Guard are people who fight to protect to protect "freedom", right? Freedom of speech, perhaps?
Bullshit. It's okay only as long as they like it.
At a WWE house show recently, a wrestler who goes by The Miz interrupted a rendition of the National Anthem. It was done on purpose as part of a show to get people mad at The Miz. They are always doing things to make people mad at The Miz, he's a feel FFS.
Anyway, someone at the Guard got their panties in a bunch over it. The producer of the show, a guy who wrestles under the name of Fit Finlay, was fired over it. (The Guard are a sponsor of the WWE right now.) It's worth pointing out Finlay has been with the company since 2001.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio Sends Steven Seagal on a Police Raid - In a Tank
http://www.kpho.com/news/27272012/detail.html
There are many, many things wrong with this story, not least of which is sending Steven Seagal on a police raid in a tank to take down a non-violent offender. And even though I personally think running a cockfighting ring is abhorrent, I'm not sure I understand the sheriff department's logic here. Does it really make sense to kill 115 chickens just to prevent someone from forcing two roosters to fight to the death? On the whole, has this raid helped or harmed the avian community? By my count they've now suffered 114 more deaths than they would have without the raid.

Taxes and other types of theft.
I should have known this day would be bad when I knew I was going to have to go have my new cars title put in my name. It meant a trip to go see the gubment, as Gard calls it. I was charged $135 to do so and I was looking at the charges....$5 "Texas Mobility" tax. Wow. Really? it was a tax put into place in 2001 after a statewide vote. That's democracy for you!
Anyway, since I had to pay this rediculous tax, I decided to do some research for some other stupid taxes. Found a great one. A beard tax. lol

Urgent: Need help on the Thom Hartmann Forums
I've started what may be my most productive thread over at www.thomhartmann.com/community/forum. It's entitled "Ask a libertarian (me) about what we believe". Rather than have the progressives over there have misconceptions about libertarianism, I've invited them to ask me questions. The topics include: will the free market degenerate into oligarchies controlled by corporations, free rider problems, externalities, free market roads and utilities, etc. I don't have the time nor the knowlege to answer every question well. I would appreciate it if some of you could register and lend a hand. I go by "Frank Chodorov". They actually call me Frank. I can't blame them but they have no
Great Source for information regarding the Nuclear incident in Japan
I've run across a great source for information regarding this incident. It also includes a great FAQ for those not savvy on nuclear power. Its pulled from www.somethingawful.com forums (a notorious group known for trolling/being complete jerks came from this site in a game I play, but theres smart goons...).
I am in no way claiming credit for this work. The actual post can be found at http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3396817 . I just believe this stuff is worth learning about and dispelling the nonsensical fears about nuclear power.
Sometimes I feel like Buzz Lightyear
Listening to and debating progressives (or as Tom Woods calls them, neocons with sandals), I sometimes think I'm like Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 2. I used to be a progressive of sorts. Not the hard-core profit hating progressive, though

I don’t want to get all conspiratorial but I can’t help thinking that maybe not all is right with the earth’s crust & that authorities aren’t telling us.
2011-03-07 rountable pod: my comments
When Steven Smith brought up the point of shunning when dealing with agents of the state. There is a great article on the role shunning played in forming the Irish Republic. During the years before the republic came into being there was a long boycott of service to the Royal Irish Constabulary, which essentially crippled the English police powers in the area, and increased their cost of doing business tremendous. I recommend anyone in a service job to refuse service to any TSA agent or other agent of the state. There is also another story of denial service to police officers in the Seattle area, at a left anarchist coffee shop, the name of which escapes me.

The Worst Songs of all time!
I was avoiding that podcast because I thought, "I do not want to hear bad songs...." But I finally decided to listen to it and I am really glad I did. I think that was your best podcast to date. I was laughing my ass off listening to it.
When is the next bad songs show?
The Shaggs! The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins! So classic.
That last William Shatner/Henry Rollins song was actually really cool.
