State Contract time, my favorite clause
Yes it's that time of year when I will be signing a contract with the state. This is the first time I have ever used their regular tedious contract and bidding process. There is part of one clause in there that is cracking my ass up and I thought I would share:
42. TERMINATION FOR CONVENIENCE
This contract may be terminated, in whole or in part, by the State whenever, for any reason, the State determines that such termination is in the best interest of the State.
I put the same thing in my own contracts, but as a two way street. Either party can get out. I guess when you hold all the cards true reciprocity is not needed is it.
"Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe."
Frank Zappa
"We, the gubment, will screw you over whenever we want. You can do nothing about it.
We've been doing it for years. Why stop now?"

That's it. I am recommending everyone withdraw all support for the government. But wait until my contract is up, I don't want the check to bounce. ;)
