How do u even defend this position, especially in court?

Imagine that a healthy kid, who's parents want control over his diet instead of a school, gets in a trouble with the school and the parents/kid refuses to comply.  If this goes to court,  how in the world can the school district even defend it?  They can't prove the kid is malnourished, and the kid obviously isn't fat.  So if they can't use those 2 excuses, can the use the the excuse "he might get fat/unhealthly"?

"Nutrition wise, it is better for the children to eat at the school," Carmona said.

So the school claims it can feed your kids better than you.  They believe they can also teach your kids better than you.  What comes next?  Mandated time after school kids have to spend with a qualified mentor/social worker to instill values which the kids are not getting from their parents?

"In this case, this principal is encouraging the healthier choices and attempting to make an impact that extends beyond the classroom."

Ha... choice..

And the sandwich slicer refered to in the article: http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/star-wars-lunch-box-sandwich-cut...

That crap that is served to the students is not even fit for animal consumption. I would not even use it for compost. I remember, when I was in school many years ago, that the smell alone made me nauseous.

What if the child's diet is based upon a religious consideration (i.e. Kosher, Halaal)? What constitutes a medical reason? I am on Gluten-free diet but have been negative on multiple tests for Celiac's; therefore, I do not medically qualify. However, whenever I have the slightest trace of gluten, I become violently ill. I know what my body tells me, but I do not have the medical diagnosis by a doctor. Under the new fascist health legislation, access to doctors to tell you what you already know will be even more unobtainable and unreliable!

There are many parents who are turning to Gluten-Free, Casein-Free, even Grain-Free diets as an alternative to the mind-destroying drugs used to treat ADHD and Autism. Even without those conditions, diet is an individual thing that can powerfully affect one's performance. Many are using diet as a proactive measure against disease and to maximize mental and physical health. I function best on a diet of meats and fat. New research is coming out all the time and it is amazing how quickly the community is able to keep up with it. Conversely, the government is ridiculously slow and their health message is ridiculously out of date.

And, there is the problem of accommodating all possible allergies. One school had actually asked a parent to homeschool her daughter after her peanut allergy required all students to rinse out their mouths!

The government's pyramid scheme, perpetuated by the FASCIST USDA is responsible for a large proportion of diseases in this country. The USDA VIOLENTLY AND FASCISTICALY suppresses information about good nutrition and promotes the most damaging, unhealthy diets composed of glutinous grains, carbs and sugar. Now, they have the audacity to take away the choices due to their lies and screw-ups! Will they take away the children of the parents who feed them what they need? Will they? Will they?
