Listening to and debating progressives (or as Tom Woods calls them, neocons with sandals), I sometimes think I'm like Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 2. I used to be a progressive of sorts.  Not the hard-core profit hating progressive, though

Relinquish liberty for the purposes of defense in an emergency?
Why? It would seem that in an emergency, of all times, one needs
his greatest strength. So if liberty is strength and slavery is weakness,
liberty is a necessity rather than a luxury, and we can ill afford
to be without it—least of all during an emergency.

LOL that was great.  I hear ya.  I came more from the political right and spend time around tea party people and occasionally spend time talking to local republican legislators.  Sometimes it's almost like living among the dead.
