As you read this piece, please note that the bankrupt Fannie Mae was given special "power" (and money) to bail out troubled "homeowners" (ie mortgage loan recipients) starting in January of 2009. Since that time, with billions spent, 57% of those homeowners who were "troubled" have defaulted on their loans, and the year is not yet done. In addition, with policies such as these, the government is preventing home prices from falling to more closely reflect their true value. This is a recipe for disaster, and, oh yeah, it's unconstitutional, if any of those politicians care.

Check out this first paragraph from the AP:

"NEW YORK – Money on the table — perhaps $10 billion a year or more — could help close a deal in Denmark next month and keep climate talks moving toward a new global treaty in 2010. But if poorer nations see too little offered up front, the U.N. conference could end in discord."

Goodness! Gosh! One would NEVER want to see DISCORD when it comes to the theft of private property (one's earnings)! Let thievery reign!

As we have mentioned here, without a Declaration of War by Congress, anyone captured in a military operation by US forces must be tried under US Criminal law. The Bush Administration did not want to acknowledge that fact, and neither did many Democrats who voted in the House and Senate for Bush to use the troops without a Declaration of War.

As a result, many innocent (and surely many not-so-innocent) men have sat in Gitmo for years without Habeas Corpus hearings in which the government presents the evidence against them.

Tonight, 11-15-09, AMC presents its remake of "The Prisoner". It begins at  8pm eastern, with a second ep at 9. We'll see if it can come close to the magnificence of the series which stands as the greatest broadcast series backing freedom.

Leave it to Glenn to take breaking issues and derive the important political-economic lessons from them. This is a terrific piece for anyone who would like to get a better view of the corrupt interplay of politicians and business interests who don't like to compete in the free market.

FoxNews commentators and talk radio hosts are complaining that Hassan, the accused killer of 13 at Ft. Hood, is not being charged with terrorism, but is, instead, being tried under military court marshal procedings. They want terrorism charges against him. Yet at the same time, they complain that Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the admitted "Mastermind of 9-11", is not being tried in a military tribunal.

It would be interesting to see how they can square these two opposing positions, especially given the fact that the US Congress has not declared War in the reaction to 9-11, thus not allowing for war crimes tribunals, and forcing the prosecution under US criminal code of any persons captured in these unconstitutional military operations.

And it gets worse. Spitzer's speech not only didn't mention his massive hyprocrisy for prosecuting prostitutes and clients while he was a client of a call-girl himself, it centered on the IMPORTANCE OF GOVERNMENT AS A GUARDIAN AGAINST UNETHICAL BUSINESS PEOPLE!

Incredible! Is it possible that any of these people has ANY shame? Do they really believe they can walk naked and have people believe they have on the Emperor's clothes?!
