General Talk
It would appear David Nolan has passed away. :(
Got this from Freedoms Pheonix.
Gard, every time I try to post a link from Freedoms Pheonix, I get a message that says, "Your submission has triggered the installed spam filter and will not be accepted." so I end up having to make another URL.

X on Ernest Hancock's "Declare Your Independence"
Mornin' all.
I woke up this morning and found this in my mailbox. :)
Ernie is a good guy. He was on The Tiny Political Show a bit once it became a round table format. I haven't had a chance to listen to the whole thing yet, but I'll finish it up during breakfast. Feel free to post any comments as I'm sure I'll have some.
Voluntary Governance
A little while back on one of the podcasts, Gard was talking to (I'm pretty sure it was) Glenn Jacobs and the topic of libertarian nomenclature came up, acknowleding some of the disadvantages of the terminology we are currently using. In the process, seemingly spontaneously, Gard even coined the phrase "voluntary governance." This was hilarious to me, because at that very time -- not the actual moment -- I was writing a piece making just that argument and promoting just that phrase as an alternative.
Please allow me to apologize for my stupid governor.
Oh yea, this guy is inane.
It's our stupid war on drugs that is causing the problems in Mexico. US government aggressing against the American people.
So, how does Rick Perry want to handle it? By having the US government invade the Mexican people...

FDA moves to ban Caffeinated Alocholic Beverages
A link from a USAToday article saying they want to ban energy drink style alocohol beverages, and I bet you can assume what arguement they use: We got to protect the children.
Antiwar.com - excellent e-mail from Angela
I just received this e-mail from Angela, over at Antiwar.com, and wanted to share it with you guys. I love its message:
'We don't discriminate. Here at Antiwar.com, writers from both the Left and the Right are more than welcome, because we all agree on the need to change our foreign policy of global intervention.
We have all kinds of readers -- liberals, conservatives, and all points in between. And we do our best to bring them the best reporting and commentary on the international scene available on the Internet.
The mindset of progressives
Listening carefully to "progressives" (heretofore to be referred to as regressives) over the past few months has lead me to some observations concerning their mindset or psychology. All of them are at least partially wrong or illogical.
1. The unfettered free market will lead to exploitation by Big Business.
2. Conservatives support the free market.
3. Since high marginal tax rates coincided with economic growth, high marginal tax rates caused economic growth.
4. Since Reagan, there has been massive deregulation.
5. A free market means the use of force and fraud is permissible.
TSA: A metaphor for the political system (inspired by Jackie and Gard's recent podcast)
"We can look at you naked or we can feel you up."
Jackie Fiest
This is pretty much the same as choosing between liberal/progressive Democrats and neoconservative/conservative Republicans. It's up to you, fellow conspirators, to decide which party wants to see us naked and which one wants to feel us up. I apologize for being a little crude, but keep in mind the subject matter.
My vote is for liberals feeling us up and conservatives wanting to see us naked. My reasoning is this: liberals like to keep up the pretense that they care about privacy while conservatives are always saying that people shouldn't mind intrusions because you shouldn't have anything to hide.
It appears its okay for government to discriminate
Government is always saying there must be anti discrimination laws to prevent employers & alike from discriminating against minorities etc.
It appears though in the case of the US government they don’t practice what they preach

Great article by free market economist (and NH resident) Howard Katz. Note: article contains revisionist history on the Great Depression.

Whoa. Bin Laden dead?
Barry Hess posted this on his Facebook account a little while ago. I'm not too sure. On one hand, I can see the government covering it up in order to further their war machine. On the other hand you can fake just about anything with photoshop these days. What do you all think?
