"We can look at you naked or we can feel you up."

Jackie Fiest

This is pretty much the same as choosing between liberal/progressive Democrats and neoconservative/conservative Republicans.  It's up to you, fellow conspirators, to decide which party wants to see us naked and which one wants to feel us up.  I apologize for being a little crude, but keep in mind the subject matter.

My vote is for liberals feeling us up and conservatives wanting to see us naked.  My reasoning is this:  liberals like to keep up the pretense that they care about privacy while conservatives are always saying that people shouldn't mind intrusions because you shouldn't have anything to hide.

Relinquish liberty for the purposes of defense in an emergency?
Why? It would seem that in an emergency, of all times, one needs
his greatest strength. So if liberty is strength and slavery is weakness,
liberty is a necessity rather than a luxury, and we can ill afford
to be without it—least of all during an emergency.

I see where you are going with this.

The looking at you naked, I think, is a good metaphor for the way the R's like to look at everyones lives and control them. No drugs, no sex before marriage and if you're gay, you're bad.

And, yea, the D's like to feel their ways into your pockets and steal your money for their stupid, worthless programs.

Stupid statists. How about I control my own life and keep my own money? Ktnxbai.

My reasoning was more along the following lines:

R's are for law and order.  D's want to strip us of our rights (no pun intended), but act like they are doing us a favor by not making us take all of our clothes off.

I've never heard an R say they wanted to prohibit, by law, sex before marriage.  As far as the drug issue goes, both R's and D's as well as liberals and conservatives are for drug laws.

"Conservatives want to make people virtuous; liberals want to make them healthy. Both believe that using the state to accomplish their aims is legitimate. That is why both conservatives and liberals favor anti-drug laws, psychiatric coercions, and other assaults against individual freedom and responsibility couched in therapeutic terms."

The next time I have to fly, I'll intentionally soil myself and have them give me a patdown.

Listening to the ep with jacki now. Just had a thought re: $700,000 study.

What about a private study on the negative psychological impacts of intrusive TSA scanners and pat downs. It's gotta be useful!!!!heh

Indeed.

You know what's funny about the TSA thing? This is all in response to 9/11. But imagine how world history would be different right now if the American people were allowed to be armed on planes and, say, maybe, two people on each plane had guns. What are the chanes those hijackings would have happened? None of these security measures would even be necessary because if there was a hijacking the citizens would have handled it.

Tennessee's Jimmy Duncan--a true paleoconservative--blasts the TSA's porno-scanners and invasive pat downs, along with Michael Chertoff's connections to Rapiscan.

X,

I saw that. It's good to know there is atleast one person with brains on The Floor. I believe he's one of yours as he's from TN.

A few things to add to this conversation...

Ron Pauls anti-TSA legislation

http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/70061.html

If anyone votes against this legislation, good luck getting reelected.

Here is the video of him talking about the situation on The Floor.

A woman, carrying a baby, is "patted down" including having her buttocks, labia and breasts directly touched without the TSA agent telling her what she was going to do. Her attorney calls it sexual assault due to a lack of a SOP (standard operating procedure) explination.
