Ask Gard and the Conspiracy
the foreign job market
I'd like to hear gard's opinion on a recent conversation I had with a friend of mine. My friend was telling me about how he had read that the best places to work in the world are in european countries, such as france and italy. He said that this is because of the laws that these countries have that force businesses to put into practice certain standards regarding vacation time, wage, maternity leave, etc. Now, the ethical implications of this are obvious to anyone who values the concepts of personal liberty and property right, but unfortunately not everyone understands these concepts right away. My question for gard is, how do we go even further than the ethical implications and point the practical economic issues to my friend?
Looking for Gards' contact
Couldn't find it anywhere through the site, or while listening. Gard when you see this please send me an email at jamesbutabi@yahoo.com.
Concerning recent podcast series on IP & the market
Before I get into my question, I just wanted to say thanks for putting out yet another great series. I started listening to the Conspiracy back in August when I first heard about it on FTL (which I also started listening to in August). I finally joined the Cabal a couple days ago. Three dollars a month for a great podcast is well worth it IMO. Thanks!
Dude Is There A Problem With The Liberty Line
I was just wondering why Gard hasn't posted any audios from the liberty line in the past two weeks?
Is there a problem with it techy wise?
Black Jack
Gard, I've heard you mention that you and your niece are fans of anime and manga but what are your thoughts on the series and the character of Black Jack?
Logical Arguments with the Broken Irrational
A little while ago I watched one of Dave Ridley's videos and started reading the comments as I can't seem to help myself. Scrolling through I noticed someone say that without "law" there is no such thing as "justice". This argument bugged me, because justice is obviously defined broader and the supposed purpose of law is to provide justice. Then he states that justice cannot be defined outside of law as a moral concept because morality is subjective. This person, his handle is p00lman, happens to be a common poster on Dave's videos so I've read his comments before and he is obviously a complete relativist and has no objective principles. The argument continues among the posters until it breaks down to childish lashes.
Conspirators List on Twitter
Dear conpirators and fellow cabal members:
Please consider following this list I have created, which lists conspirators and cabal members known unto me.
Here is the URL of the list for you to follow. I will add you to this list if you follow it.
Info on the charity Heifer.org
My wife came across this charity called Heifer.org. The group provides the poor with various types of livestock, teaches sustainable agricultural techniques, etc. Does anyone know anything about them? I'm a little worried because their website talks about "gender equality" and taking care of the earth...socialist buzzwords. However, it says that "gender equality" refers to encouraging womens' participation in decisions, education, etc. Anyway, I like the concept--it's like teaching someone to fish instead of giving them fish, but don't want to give a donation to a group whose real purpose is furthering a socialist agenda as so many charities do nowadays.
Thanks.
Some humor as a way of introduction

Dude When Are We Going To Do A Cultural Podcast
Gard dude its been almost six months since we first talked about it & so I'm just wondering if we are going to get around to it.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm nagging but its just I've been busting to do it for ages so I thought I should remind you.
Podcast music
I've heard some really cool music at the beginning and ends of the podcasts.
I wonder if you could let us know what band and song it is somewhere in the forum or main page.
I'm always on the hunt for new tunes.
Considering joining the Cabal but I have one question.
Gard, I have a question for you. Is the Liberty Conspiracy a labor of love? I am more than willing to join up but I need to know that my donations are only going to be used to keep the project afloat and hopefully expand it. Is it a hobby or a money making enterprise? I once read a post by Ian of FTL that the point of the show is to make money for him. Even though I'm a laissez-faire capitalist, this rubbed me the wrong way. If one is going to market their radio show as a commercial enterprise, they should not be asking for donations. For those of you who think I am contradicting myself, I'm not. Economics is not about money, it about "psychic income", to use Rothbard's phrase. For me, I place a higher value on some things over money
How About Debating Environmentalists?
I remember a while back when Gardner was still doing his old radio show I phoned in once on the whole climate change debate & said that because environmentalists have made such a big deal about climate change its actually distracting from other environmental issues. In fact the whole climate change thing has probably made it harder to campaign on other environmental issues because people have kind of tied all environmental issues in with climate change, when climate change is basically just a theory & there are other proven environmental concerns etc.
Pro Life Podcast
I know like myself that Gard has some pretty strong feelings concerning the issue of abortion.
I know also such as myself that Gard does struggle with the dichotomy of liberty & being pro life.
Basically everybody seems to think it's a given that if your pro liberty you going to be pro choice when it comes to abortion.
In fact I've a whole load of flack from lefty acquaintances who have accused me of jumping on the Christian-Right bandwagon because I don't fit their stereotype of what an atheistic liberal should stand for etc. Neglecting of course that if you're pro liberty you going to believe in the right to life being the most important thing of all.
When Is Gard Going To Debate With Lefties?
A while back I heard Gardner say he was going to attempt to get people shall we say from the left of political spectrum on to the podcast to debate various issues.
He's also suggested to me in doing a cultural podcast
I don't know if Gard has attempted to do so or if Gard's just got distracted.
Anyways I thought it a good idea not just because Gard's not bad at breaking down the arguments of opposing views but it would be good to debates between the libertarian perspective & other political perspectives. In fact I personally reckon just in general there isn't enough public debates going on between libertarians & other perspectives.
Federal Medicine Machinations - Links
Gard,
You reference a lot of good material in your multi-part pod on the Federal takeover of health insurance and health care. Could you provide the links to the sources you quoted, such as the article by Sheldon Richmond? Thanks..
Liberty Conspiracy/THe Prisoner Font
what is the font used in the Prisoner? is it the same as Liberty Conspiracy font?
How About A Podcast On The Advantages Of Succession
In the words of my all time favorite libertarian hero Karl Hess, "Adolf Hitler as chancellor of Germany is a horror; Adolf Hitler at a town meeting would be an asshole.
More Stories From Elsewhere Of The US?
Don't mean this to sound like a gripe but considering that the podcast does have listenership outside the US it would be nice to hear some opinion on liberty stuff outside the US?
Thanks
