A Couple Notes About the AIG Bonus Controversy, As Congress Prepares Ex Post Facto Tax to Grab it Back

First, the Obama Admin and his Congressional pals have known about these retention bonuses for months, and even gave AIG $30 billion more while aware of what was coming.

Second, the CEO of AIG was APPOINTED by the government in the fall.

Third, the move to tax the bonuses at 100% runs contrary to a provision in the stimulus bill already passed, a provision added by Christopher Dodd (D-CT), who received over $100,000 in campaign contributions from AIG.  Dodd successfully added a provision to the bailout bill that said these kinds of bonuses were off limits from the federales.

Third, plus a little more. This new tax proposal is an ex post facto law, prohibited by, uh, that document called, uh... Um...

NAACP Sues over "Racist Predatory Lending" - Glenn Jacobs Comments

Big thanks to Glenn for his thoughts and the link to the story. It's all yours, Glenn:

Of ALL Government Bureaucrats, the CHINESE Offer Warnings and Advice About Devaluation of Dollar and Over-Spending!

They're worried about the Treasury Bills and the devaluation of the Dollar through reckless spending. This coming from a communist government to a supposedly "free" nation's government! Tells ya something about the state of the US economic policy if communists are more free market in their approach than US officials!

Yikes!

Obama Does What Was Predicted: Signs Exec. Order to Fund with Tax Dollars Fetal Stem Cell Research

Note in this how he doesn't get what "cloning" is. He states that he will not allow "cloning for reproduction". But, as noted in "Live Free or Die", CLONING IS REPRODUCTION! That's simply WHAT IT IS! Uh, duh?

What he means is that no humans will be reproduced through the cloning process unless the intent is to kill them and use them for parts.

Welcome to a Brave New World. Of course, Bill Clinton had the same position. Same as it ever was,

Federal Mileage Tax Gains Steam in Congress, Despite Obama Pledge to Veto

Why not? After all, the Supreme Court recently ruled that Carbon Dioxide is a "pollutant" that can be regulated, the federal gubment hands out all sorts of money for state and federal roads, and oil is evil!

Sure, it's based on faulty science, a faulty view of federal power, and paternalism during a time of economic trouble, but, really, it's a national "crisis" that needs to be addressed, right?

Hey! Hey! The AP Reports a Stunner! The Recession (Um, Read: Depression or, How 'Bout Repression) Could Be BAAD!

NO WAY! Really?

Hey, as you read this, note how they try to make sure they pin the '81-'82 recession (one can go back a heck of a lot further, by the way) to Reagan's economic policies. Of course, the Carter Administration's last budget was in sway for that year. Right now, they DO note that Obama is "inheriting" the "recession" (it will get soo much worse). The key factor will come about three or four years from now, to see the rate and level of recovery. There might not even be any in three years!

The Push Increases: Statists Manipulate and Invent Data to Support Their Unconstitutional Socialized Medicine System

First, there's Barack Obama, opening his "Health Care Summit" (to which precisely ZERO people were invited who might be opposed to statism). He claimed that every thirty seconds a bankruptcy in America was caused by medical expenses. Uh-huh. Riiiiight. (A little reference to the Coz, there.)

As predicted, FDIC Headed for Insolvency - More Federal Cash Inevitable

Also, watch out for Obama's "health care summit". Dangerous mojo.

Hey, on this FDIC thaaang, you think we might be able to find out the banks that are in trouble? Oh, no, that's right, the SEC made it illegal to talk about banks, lending institutions and investment houses that are in financial distress... Welcome to Oceanea.

Pushing Us Towards Inflationary Breakdown: Fed to Begin Buying "Debt-backed Securities" to Facilitate Loans!

And a note. While on Capital Hill today, Ben Bernanke said he would like ot see higher taxes and socialized medicine. Yep, a guy who really understands economics. The government of the United States of America is caught in a statist political-philosophical paradigm constructed over decades. It is largely economically socialist, with aspects of national socialism (fascism) mixed in. Ben Bernanke's calls will be answered, with higher taxes likely this year and next, and again after that, and with MORE socialized medicine (we already have it with Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP, and Medicare Part D) and more fascism to continue to crush the private market in health care. Unless something dramatic happens, the US will have socialized all aspects of medicine within ten years.

Obama Pushes Old Leftist/Soviet Style Concept - "Community Health Centers"

This is also an idea that the lefties in many states pushed, a top-down, central control, bureaucracy that will shift money away from some to give it to others. In this case, it's for "medical care".

Nothing like socialized medicine and Soviets to make you feel like you're in the "land of the free".

Obama's National Health Plan Begins - Starting Point $1 Trillion

Combined with the new position created in his "Stimulus" Package, a position which appoints a single bureaucrat to oversee "healthcare efficiency", and who can tell doctors what procedures are and aren't "efficient", this new wrinkle is starting to look really ugly.
