Music

The music podcast that was 2 days too late.

I really enjoyed the new music podcast, but I'm a little sad.  Turns out Fitz and the Tantrums were into here in Columbia MO on Saturday and I missed them.

Awesome documentary on Paul Weller

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNqcEewTGYY

Documentary on Paul Weller from early 2010 (which I seemed to of missed when first shown), directed by Julian Temple who had previously directed the Filth & Fury documentary on the Sex Pistols.

It seems to me that the older Paul gets the better he seems, he certainly seems far more confident & relaxed in front of the cameras then he was 20 years ago.

I really like this documentary because Paul doesn’t just about the music, but talk about his love for London & British culture & sticks up for a multicultural Britain. In front I pretty much agree with everything expressed in this documentary.

Favourite Motorhead Tracks

G man is a fan of Lemmy & co & so am I

Thought I'd ask if anybody else is a fan of Motorhead what are their favourite tracks by the band

For me its No Class http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWJ5dtF6X4I & Iron Horse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLkbFf0p7vU

Question for Who fans.

Which Album is better, Quadrophenia or Who's Next?  These are your only two choices.  Live at Leeds is the greatest live album, obviously.

Gil Scott-Heron RIP

Well the man who's often referred to as the godfather of rap has died

Paul Weller did a decent cover version of The bottle

Oh yeah as a celtic supporter I'd like to mention Gil Scott-Heron's father was the first Black player to play for Celtic.

Chistian Bale & Barbara Streisand Mash-up

This mash-up has bad words in it.  Babs should take her own advise.

IGGY SLAPS "IDOL"!

Hell, yeah.

It amazes me that so-called "middle America" is still shocked by hard music performed by a guy with a lot of energy. That's what ROCK IS!

Be Seeing You!

Edwyn_Collins

Gman dude, I read through Edwyn's wiki. It mentioned one of his songs was on the Austin Powers soundtrack. That is awesome!

Song at Beginning of 1-14-11 Podcast-The Horrible History of Indian Boarding Schools?

Can anyone tell me what is the song at the beginning of this podcast?  It's one of the coolest things I've heard!

One more thing: a suggestion for the Gard (or El Garderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing); could you list the titles and artists for songs that you include in the podcasts?

Thanks to all

Gaga for Lady Gaga

I just secured tickets to see Lady Gaga in concert on March 19, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  These are the best pop music concert tickets I have ever had for a stadium show, section nine row twenty.

I think this will be an outstanding concert.  However, due to the perception that the Church of Latter-day Saints pushed California Proposistion 8 to keep gay marriage unrecognized by the state may raise the ire of the Gaga.

So far I have been unsuccesful in obtaining backstage passes.  Anyone know how to do this?
