Tales from the Conspiracy
Save Raptor Jobs
Was checking out the Drudge Report and this was an ad at the very top of the page. The claims that they are making here is absolutely absurd but I thought some of you would like to see this example of bad economic thinking. Imagine if that 12 billion was part of the civilian economy and went to make capital or consumer goods. How much worse off are we because they are developing this super expensive yet thoroughtly awesome fighter jet.

Juddy Gregg Withdraws His Nomination for Commerce Sec. -- Duh!
His reason? He's discovered that he and Obama have too many differences on matters of policy.
Really? Seems like it took him a while to figure this out. Wasn't there this thing called the "presidential campaign"? Where's Judd been?
Besides, hey, Judd, weren't you in favor of TARP? This new anti-constitutional "stimulus" plan isn't much different. What's the big deal, Judd?

Your thoughts on current Sci-Fi
Having seen your talk about the Firefly series (on YouTube) and finding out that you wrote for Star Trek, I'm curious as to what your thoughts are about the politics of Star Trek and the recent Galactica series. Have you ever done a podcast on this topic?
BTW, I love Paper Planes!
Ecstasy No Worse Then Riding A Horse

But don't expect the British government to act upon this as they've not done with other reports recently telling them probibition is dumb
Same Scaremongering, Different Day
My mother called me yesterday, all in a tizzy over the push by those evil socialists to get the stimulus package passed. She's lamenting the threats of impending doom if it's not passed now. I listen to the news, read the quotes like this in the paper:
"A failure to act, and act now, will turn crisis into a catastrophe and guarantee a longer recession, a less robust recovery, and a more uncertain future," Obama said in his prepared remarks.
Don't Blame Me, I Voted For Ron Paul
I designed this shirt, and thought some people around here might enjoy it
"Sure, the econonmy might be in shambles, but its not your fault. You made the right choice by voting for Ron Paul. Show it with pride!"
Republicans Trying to Fix Prices for Mortgages
http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2009Feb02/0,4670,StimulusHousing,00.html
...Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., told reporters Monday that Republicans would offer a plan to have the government step in to reduce mortgage rates to around 4 percent, which could shore up home prices and lower housing payments for millions of Americans. "A stimulus bill must fix the main problem first, and that's housing," McConnell said. "That's how all of this began. We think you ought to go right at housing first."
Isn't exactly a question....
Hey, this isn't exactly a question for you. It is a music reccomendation for the podcast. I wasn't sure if you would check the music thread, though. Anyway the two liberty-minded music groups I have to reccomend are Clarity (NY): http://www.purevolume.com/clarityny and East Coast Avengers: http://profile.myspace.com/eastcoastavengers Also, KRS-One has many good liberty-minded stuff (check out his songs: "Who Are the Pimps?" and "Sound of da Police" and many more).
The Other Dark Meat, (not FDA Approved)
This literally had me salivating. There are many good free market topics (sale of game meat unregulated, habitat, fur trade) in this article. If I had written this piece, I would have mentioned that killing wild animals for food (book on poaching http://tinyurl.com/apn8bn ) is likely to increase during this economic catastrophe known as the Obama Administration. I'm gonna see if I can get this at the local soul food place (http://utah.citysearch.com/profile/34694315/salt_lake_city_ut/mama_s_sou...)
Judd Gregg: Commerce Secretary?
GO figure. This ass clown who engineered the Banking bailout. Yeah. He's the perfect man for the job.
"Fairness" Doctrine
http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/video.aspx?v=yduzkU6Uuz
Obama's Press Sec'y refuses to comment on reinstitution of the fairness doctrine.
Seems John Potter (USPS Postmaster General) needs to cut his losses
http://digg.com/business_finance/United_States_Postal_Service_Considers_...
"It probably has to be done, but it feels so wrong: on Wednesday, the U.S. Postal Service asked Congress for permission to deliver the mail five days a week instead of six. "
When Toys Are Outlawed...
I'm sure some of you are aware of the upcoming toy 'safety' regulation to be imposed in early February by the Consumer Products Safety Commission. As someone with a vested interest in these industries, but more importantly the fight for liberty on principle, I have followed the news pieces with a keen eye, and have spoken to people for which there is deep concern that their businesses or activities will be falling under the hammer of this bureaucratic madness.
Peanut butter recall
I am just so perturbed over this peanut butter fiasco. FDA has been in the Georgia plant regularly and knew it was unclean. I don't know why we put responsibility for product safety on a group without the gumption to remove that responsibility when they fail.
Transexualism, freedom & liberty
Transsexualism & freedom; it might seem an offbeat subject which is personal to me but not particularly relevant to anybody else. In fact this would be a gross error of a conclusion because at the heart of the issue of transsexualism & freedom is the matter of what I’d term as property rights 1:01, one of the core beliefs of individual liberty & a relevant to us all.
Senate Confirms Geithner as Treasury Secretary
So now a tax evader is the chief tax collector. Makes sense, I suppose - or at least it's consistent with past practice. After all, Barack Obama is the third consecutive President to have admitted to drug use in the past, and yet he and his predecessors have all continued to wage the drug war. Good for me, but not for thee....
