83% of those taking the poll say that it is a bad idea. I'm sure that restauranteurs will be pleased as punch if this actually becomes yet another regulation that they need to follow. This will vastly cut the incomes of most servers, but don't worry waiters, waitresses, and wine stewards of the granite state, it will be okay. Because the ONE drink your patrons will be allowed to have when this becomes law is a serving of Louis XIII Cognac. It retails for about $150 per serving.
What's the problem? Can can just turn "Bub's Watering Hole" into "Bub's Yoga Eporium." Everyone WINS!!! Although then auto death rates may increase due to drivers being to relaxed behind the wheel... Oh well, we'll just make some new laws when we get to that point.

What would the proposed penalties be for the bar owner and the patron if they exceed one per hour.

Agreed!

All this would do is drive those wishing to congregate for drinks to places like speak-easies, which will only be regulated by the free market.
Simply outrageous.
I'd love to see them try pulling that shit in Northern Ireland! :)
New Hampshire could become the home of the 64 ounce beer, or the 24 ounce Martinin ;)
