Not only is this unconstitutional, running afoul of the 4th Amendment (private medical data will be collected without your consent), the 5th, the 9th and the 10th, it is a twisting of the interstate commerce clause the likes of which we have not seen since the bankrupt Medicaid Act. It also establishes criteria for denying health care to those deemed by government to be not worthy of it, forces private insurance companies to accept people with preexisting conditions (which will drive prices skyward), and penalizes US citizens if they do not buy policies.

As mentioned on Twitter as the vote came down, this is a moment when defenders of liberty and peace realize they are being pushed closer and closer to the point of defensive action. What that action will be remains to be seen.
