Just got in and found these stories on Yahoo.... Osama presses for longer school years I don't have time to get started on how the education industry is a racket and how children are spoiled and overprotected... If Osama has his way, as one observer pointed out, he would destroy the vacation industry and vast regions of the US. The Northern part of this state heavily relies on travel. How is this to be paid for? With federal grants with strings attached? Children need free time to recharge, develop and grow. Free time and imagination are essential to both children and adults! Do we really want to be like Japan and Germany, the examples given in the article? Pink Floyd was right- we don't need no education, we don't need no thought control, no dark sarcasam in the classroom, teacher leave those kids alone! $93,000 cancer drug: How much is a life worth? Ugh! The lengths to which this article avoids the free market and sensible people in order to advance the statist case makes me sick! Complete ignorance of ethics and economics!!!! No need for me to point them out to readers here! BTW, for 2011, my medical insurance will cost my wife and I over $12,000 and the dental will cost close to $1500!! Today, I spoke to the rep to get these numbers and he told me that he has seen rates increase 80-100%. Is this not a tax???? I blame the mandates under Obama care for the most part but there are also new provisions for doemstic partners and other crap in the state plan. I don't want to control the lives of consenting adults, but I also don't want to pay for unmarried couples, of whatever persuasion, to shack up. (Not to mean those who are married or expect to extend certain things between individuals outside of the government system- I still need to listen to that podcast.) Who is the state to demand that I pay for  cohabitators and their choices? Who is the state to redefine same-sex relationships as "marriage," contrary to the whole of human existence on my dime?
