It's frustrating to see left-statists preparing to protest business owners like this one and the folks who run Red Lobster/Applebees. The protesters say that the business owners are doing wrong when they prepare to cut employee hours and raise customer prices as a result of the costs of the federal medical fascism law. These protesters must not understand economics. Perhaps they believe that the business owners are making these moves because they just 'don't like' the current President. It must be personal, they might think...

If they DO believe this, they have no understanding of economics. The article to which we have linked gives you a good idea of the new expenses that will be incurred by businesses due to the political machinations in Washington DC and the supporters of fascism all over America. The emotion-laiden news reports about people who can't afford health insurance have not offered real explanations about why the costs have increased (HINT: think government requirements forced on them in state after state), and the upcoming reports will probably not explain how much more expensive it will be for small businesses to operate. These new costs will force business owners to cut hours in attempts to reduce the number of full-time employees they have, will inspire the business owners to cut their own take-home pay, and will force the business owners to pass on much of their costs -- pass them on to the customers.

So as prices for all kinds of things rise, let's see the protesters direct their protests at the proper bad guys: the politicians who took the aggressive action of forcing business owners with more than fifty employees to HAVE to get insurance for their full-time employees. The utopian hope that this will bring about a better world, a world of universal health care and healthier people is a fasehood, it is backed by government force, and it is destructive.
