CNN-Fortune Report (SURPRISE!) Five Essential Medical Freedoms You'll Lose Under Fed Medicine

It's amazing to see how the upside-down idea that people have "rights to" things can be used to blind the populace into believing that government-run medicine will give them better and less expensive care than the free market. On one side you have the coercive force of government, which has regulated and mandated private health insurance companies until their charges have had to rise to handle all the burdens. Government, with mandates on doctors and over-utilization by people who don't pay their own bills, with cost-shifting and capitation.

On the other hand, you have the market, which responds to consumer demand by providing more of the product, and allowing competition to drive costs down as that market sees more participants in it who provide the products or services. You see DVD players that have gone down to 1/15th their original cost when they were first releaseed, allowing even people of limited means to get what they might not have gotten years before. You get productivity gains and more of the product or service available, letting more people get it. It would be great if the market were allowed to operate in health care.

But NOOOOOOOOO! (A little reference to John Belushi, there)...

We have to see anti-constitutional propagandists pushing for unethical controls and subsidies, fascism and redistribution of wealth, as doctors wonder if someday they might work offshore, as black marketeers. It's serious mojo, statists. And believe us, you can't keep a lid on freedom all the way around.
