Stories of the Absurd: Gub-ment in Action

A new addition to the fold: Federal bureaucrats are trying to push their fascistic air travel regulations by justifying them with what they believe passes for an "economic" argument!! Incredible! They are now spouting off about the number of hours lost when we have to wait for late flights. And what is their answer? Not to free the market to allow more competition, but to CUT the number of flights into NYC. So, let's get this straight... Many flights are late, primarily because the TSA slows passengers down in the gates and the federal government regulates the number of airports and routes. These restrictions on the market go unnoticed by many people, which gives the feds more room to regulate when their anti-economic paradigm becomes more and more inefficient and crowded. Their newest answer is this: "Hmmm, so flights are late. Let's force the airlines to fly less. So, this way, even though there actually will be FEWER flights to cater to customers. Prices will rise, choices will decrease, actual numbers of flights will decline... but those customers who CAN get flights at a decent price won't have to wait as long." Brilliant thinking from the people who brought you Social Security and government rail.

Here is the article. Notice how MSNBC buys right into the nonsense: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22867995

In NYC, a five year old boy is handcuffed by police when he won't calm down. Good? Bad? The system continues with more money and more power, whether people want to pay for it or not:

Anyone get to read Gard's article for the Foundation for Economic Education about the "Sofa Tax"? It was just a spoof of people wanting to tax soda. Gard thought: "Hmmm... They say they need to tax soda to cut down on obesity, because, they claim, 'we all pay' for bad health choices. What about leisure? What about comfortable seating? TV?"

Well guess what... One state is taking this SERIOUSLY!

As Strongbad might say, "Check me out!": http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=080125230108.k05u9plm&show_artic...
