Ted Kennedy The Senator No Girl Would Want To Date
Obama & other prominent Democrats are mourning the passing of Edward 'Ted' Kennedy but I'm not. Senator Ted Kennedy literally did get away with murder.
It's often said by cynical anti government types like me that politicians get away with murder. Well many politicians are murders indirectly with the wars they wage etc, but in the case of Ted Kennedy he directly committed murder & if that wasn't bad enough he got away with it!
Yes let me take you back to the summer of 1969 when Ted Kennedy was leaving a party & offered a lift to a young girl....in the early hours of the next morning Ted Kennedy arrived home all wet without the girl he was giving a lift to, because as it turned out She was still in Kennedy's car at the bottom of the water & obviously had drowned.
The investigation that ensued afterward resulted in Kennedy being charged & found guilty of 'leaving the scene of an accident after causing injury' & was sentenced to two months' incarceration though this was suspended.
From what I've heard of the incident Kennedy first of all claimed he couldn't remember what had happened & he probably thought the Kennedy name would get him out of bother. Yeah well a two month suspended sentence does seem a pretty light sentence & one can only wonder if that him being a Kennedy wasn't a factor. Plus the charge itself of 'leaving the scene of an accident after causing injury' is kind of putting it fucking mildly. He didn't cause fucking injury he caused a fucking death! Whether it was an accident or incompetence Ted Kennedy should have been charged at least with manslaughter. Funny enough Ted Kennedy did regain his memory & claimed that after he freed himself from the sinking car & got to shore he called out the name of the girl he was giving a lift to 'Mary Jo Kopechne' & when there was no response he dove down several times to save her...sorry but I believe that to be utter bullshit & that the truth of the matter is Kennedy saved his own skin fuck Mary Jo Kopechne.
Of course there's always been speculation as to whether Kennedy was having an affair with Kopechne & whether her resulting death was a good thing for Kennedy. Personally I'd say even if that were true her death didn't in fact result in a good thing for Kennedy & I'd also say that I'd wish people wouldn't get so uptight about men getting blown because a man is only as faithful as his options.
But there's another reason I detest Ted Kennedy & its to do with his meddling in Northern Ireland. There's a famous piece of television from about 20 years ago when Kennedy was visiting Northern Ireland & a British solder told him literally to 'fuck off'. Now I don't believe British solders should of ever been deployed on the streets of Northern Ireland, I believe the troubles in Northern Ireland are up to the Irish to sort out for themselves without interference from Britain or the United States & so a resent the likes of Ted Kennedy & other US politicians meddling in the affairs of Northern Ireland & so that British solder who told him to fuck off was in many respects correct to do so.
Ted Kennedy was a murdering & meddling scumbag who some would say was essentially very much your archetypical politician therefore I'm not mourning his passing.

I just heard that Kennedy actually used to MAKE JOKES about Chappaquidick. Now, it's possible that he had a certain amount of remorse about it, but, given the tradition of his dad, and other things one can observe in his own history, I doubt it.

Dude I did leave a phone message about this subject but from hearing yesterday's podcast you sounded as if weren't keen on such opinions being expressed.
However I'd say that you ain't hearing anything on Kennedy's meddling in Northern Ireland & I feel it needs to be heard

Having grown up just down the street from the Kennedy's compound on Cape Cod, I have to say your commentary is greatly appreciated. People revere the Kennedy Clan and any thought to the contrary will get you a thorough drubbing, at least metaphorically.
