Pastor Beaten & Tased by Border Patrol & DPS

Pastor's Personal Account

It's a pretty disturbing occurrence but I doubt it will have the impact it should.

In fact I showed this to a liberal who said how is this evidence of descent into a police state? I can only respond by saying were they deaf ^& blind or just really fucking stupid! Of course I know the conservative law & order types are going to say well the guy got what he deserved he was disobeying a police officer.

Oh that's it is it that we deserve to get the shit beaten out of us if don't comply & blindly obey any agent of the state? Right or wrong no matter what we are ordered to do if we don't comply we are criminals. Yeah if we think for ourselves & rebel from being the obeisant serfs the authorities wish us to be then the thugs with guns are going to take care of us.

In all seriousness there are politicians who believe that a good citizen is somebody who swears blind obedience to the state, yeah never mind individuality, never mind right to think for yourself, never mind the right to have a conscience of your own, never mind the right to disagree. Yeah if you an individual with a conscience who disagrees with the party line your unpatriotic & you going to get tased & beaten or worse.

Ron Paul has something to say about patriotism

The true patriot is motivated by a sense of responsibility and out of self-interest for himself, his family, and the future of his country to resist government abuse of power. He rejects the notion that patriotism means obedience to the state. Resistance need not be violent, but the civil disobedience that might be required involves confrontation with the state and invites possible imprisonment.

Yeah & Ron Paul has much to say about the US constitution & government abuse of it. In the case of the thugs with guns beating on this pastor well it's a total infringement of the 4th amendment...

'The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.'

You know I bet you there will liberals who'll say as they often do that constitutions should be seen as a guide not to be taking literally or that there are times when there is a need for flexible interpretation. You know the next person who says there's a need for flexible interpretation when it comes to the rule of law, I might be tempted to pay them a visit & beat the crap out of them, yes that might be assault but hey depends how you interpret it after all the rule of law is merely a guide.

Unfortunately I know a few too many Little Englanders who'll say why is this story is important it happened in the US. Yeah like there's no police brutality in Britain or that Britain isn't descending into a police state. It does not matter where ever liberty is infringed or oppressed the fact it happens is what happens to matter.

Unfortunately too that I doubt this story will have the impact it should. As well as having the misfortune of knowing a few too many Chavy bigots I also know too many Social Worker Sues, in other words professional lefty caring types who pontificate about civil liberties but seem to confuse the rule of law with democracy. Yeah many on the left talk the talk about civil liberties but nearly always comply when ordered. It kind of begs the question how much are you willing take bedore your no longer willing to comply?

Wonderful post, Ziggy.  And I imagine you're all too correct that it won't get the attention it deserves.  To answer the question in your final line-  That's the frightening thing right there... Far too many people are in a place right now where they would never think of deciding not to comply.  And that's why it is so important for people like you and me to try to educate those around us.
