Spambots!
I guess the Liberty Conspiracy website has truly arrived, as there seem to be a number of spambots commenting in the forum.
The weird thing is that the scripting for the spambots seems to be choosing posts, and generating somewhat coherent responses. I was fooled by one of them.
The reason the spambot replies seem coherent is that they copy another entry from a conspirator that was posted in another thread or even from very thread itself. They only splice their ads with hyperlinks and it seems completely different.
Not that it would eradicate the problem entirely, but couldn't we opt for an SMF board to limit access to fly-by-night posters who spam the boards? Couldn't we arrange a deal with the guys over at FTL and get a copy of their forum system? They already have it so people can publish articles for consideration and voting. They've already done all the footwork to build something, and all we would need to do is skin something for our own purposes.
