Post Gaddafi Libya
The end is nigh for Gaddafi & the question is what next for Libya?
Call me a born cynic, but whatever replaces Gaddafi is more then likely will be a puppet of western interests.
Libya is an oil rich country but I don’t think that the Libyan people are somehow going to benefit from Libya being oil rich. No doubt that Gaddafi has robbed the Libyan people of the wealth generated from Libya being oil rich, but BP & Exon will do much the same. It will case that certain interests will allow the Libyan to have as much democracy & freedom as they want, just so long as the oil corps can plunder Libya of its oil. If freedom & democracy does get in the way of the plundering of Libya’s natural resources then certain interests might very well install a despot far worse then Gaddafi.
MATO intervened into Libya with the pretence of a UN resolution to protect civilians & yet its been pretty obvious the agenda has been to give air support to the rebels. Despite the obvious fact that NATO have been backing the rebels, its been pretty much an open secret that NATO has been backing the rebels & I find it objectionable that when we all know NATO has been backing the rebels, NATO still lies by stating its neutral in the Libyan conflict. Of course NATO’s backing of the rebels of course will come with a price for the Libyan people & I wonder what that will be.
Great questions. Obviously the Empires will try to have the happenings there fall their way. If they do back a tyrant there, that tyrant will be demonized in public and then sent cash behind the scenes. That will be very unfortunate for the Libyan people, but we've all seen how this game works!
"Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe."
