Cowboys fan: Philadelphia airport security targeted me because of my Cowboys jersey
A Dallas Cowboys fan believes TSA screeners pulled her out of security line for additional searches at Philadelphia International Airport because of her Cowboys jersey, a CBS local television station reported. Alyson Galen was headed to board a flight to Florida on January 15 when, before she even got to the metal detector, she was ordered by a TSA screener to get out of line, WBTV3 reported.
"My husband said to me 'did you beep?' And I told him I didn't even go through the metal detector," Galen said.
Galen was taken to be patted down in a plexiglass area in full view of other passengers.
Then, a screener walked up to her as she was putting her shoes back on to resume her trip. "He walked up to me and said 'how's it feel to be a Cowboys fan in Philadelphia?' I did tell him 'wow,'" Galen said.
Galen thinks TSA screeners pulled her out of line because of her Cowboys jersey.
"People need to understand you can't joke in this day and age," she said. "People around the world are trying to hurt us as Americans and you just can't joke about that."
This isn't the first problem a Cowboys fan has had in Philadelphia in the past month. Last month, a female Cowboys fan had 'blood running down my cheek' after an assault by Eagles fans. Galen did not file a formal complaint, but hopes TSA will offer an explanation and apology. TSA officials released a statement to WBTV3 that read in part:
"TSA trains our workforce to screen each passenger with dignity and respect. If travelers feel they have been mistreated during screening, we encourage them to ask for a supervisor at the checkpoint."
I guess it could have been worse. The TSA agent could have threatened the passenger with a gun, but he had forgotten his sidearm in the restroom.

Yeah, fat chance of that happening. There is only one place in the world that makes me more insanely angry than the airport. That's the DMV.
