First They ban access in the UK to The Pirate Bay & now there’s this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17951067

Obvious question for me is who decides what counts as ‘adult content’?

No, the obvious question is that it is the parents' job to protect children from naughtiness online. It isn't the government's job.

Only, that's not a question. So here's one: "Who gave them the right to filter ANYTHING for ANY reason?" This is a contract between the content producer, the viewer, and the ISP. The state is not a party. I can't go next door and snip my neighbor's phone line because he's viewing naughty things, so how does any other random person (or group of people) get that right? Just by calling themselves "the state".

What if I don't believe in their imaginary "state".

What NOW, bitches!!!

-And another thing:

What's the big deal about porn? Seriously.

1) The bigger deal you make over "naughtiness", the more people want to see it. Especially children. Yes, people can occasionally stumble across a penis or a bare nipple on the internet without intending to. But... SO!? If you lose your shit over it then they'll want to see more of it!

2) Unless their parents are actual PORN STARS, then teenagers know more about how to get porn than their parents. If they're concerned about children younger than that, then that's the domain of the parents...NOT the state.

Your comments on "pornography" reminded me of some of Bill Hick's stand-up comedy on the subject which can be viewed on YouTube here:

http://youtu.be/LcefX9TPlkY

Here's a sample of what Bill Hick's had to say about "pornography":

"Supreme Court says pornography is anything without artistic merit that causes sexual thoughts. No artistic merit, causes sexual thoughts. Hmmm . . . sounds like every commercial on TV doesn't it?"

It's too bad the Bill Hick's died so young...the liberty movement would immensely benefit from some excellent comedic talent.

Ask a conservative they're the ones who get hung up about these kind of things & they're the ones currently in power here

It is refreshing to see the rights of the people to be free from censorship being defended. Censorship is a standard tool of all tyrannies. Kudos to that feisty high court in Pakistan. Other jurisdictions please note. UK jurisdiction please note very carefully. I've recently ordered a custom research paper on censorship here - do my homework and now I'm wondering what changes to expect.
