I guess I should say that Liberal Vision is better then nothing especially as I was involved in its early development & sure I generally agree with what it advocates. However when I was told about the relaunch I just thought whoopee fucking do.....I'm excited not! The problem with Liberal Vision is firstly its attachment to the Liberal Democrats as if the majority of the party which is left-liberal is going to listen to a small bunch of classical liberals. Secondly & more importantly Liberal Vision doesn't have any balls to say what really needs to be said or do what needs to be done, I mean Mark Littlewood who founded LV wouldn't even publically call for the end of the war on drugs because he's more interested in hobnobbing with politico bigwigs. I'm sure some will say come on Ziggy don't knock something which is pushing in the same direction & is essentially on the same side as you. Considering that its founder neither refuses to talk to me nor wants my support I really don't feel as if we are on the same side.

I guess it's a step in the right direction, and, in being such, may help introduce some folks to 'freedom' in a way that is comfortable to them.

As a market anarchist who votes strategically, I believe in shades of grey as opposed to blacks and whites.

With some libertarian-likes in the tories, and this 'rebellion' within the Lib Dems, there's a certain prospect of liberty-based ideology 'infecting' UK politics.

So, I guess I applaud it for what it is.

Do you mean Tory libertarians such as Alan Duncan who's just got his fingers well & truly caught in the till.

As for the rebellion in the Lib Dems (which I guess I was once part of) sure there are some liberty folk however unlike the other two parties the members have far more say in party policy & the majority of members are left-liberal.

I know Clegg does want to take the party in a more classical liberal direction but the party membership currently won't buy into it.

Well, I was thinking more of Danial Hannan.

Danial Hannan is an MEP who'll beable to cast a vote for next month but to be honest the European Parliament is a pretty ineffective body

Well, it's all ineffective, in my humble opinion.

However, with the 'shades of grey' thinking, I'm able to see some value in the politics thing for other people - regardless of what I think of it.

Perhaps fighting the 'good fight' on all fronts is important - including the political front. Not everyone will want to be involved in politics, but for those who do (and are genuinely moving towards liberty) I'll spare a round of applause.
