Though Gard did play Marc Bolan on his old radio show http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Ylww2dOW7fg

I’ve as yet not managed to persuade him to play New Model Army
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0ydV3poTqI

Nor have I persuaded Gard to play Paul Weller
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=JZbKT0snOkk

I know Gard might think Weller’s best days when he was in The Jam
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lG0L86DRuC8

But personally I reckon Weller’s best work was when he went solo
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=p1cum0R0SAE

However unfortunately he’s never broken the states & as for New Model Army well they found themselves barred from entering for a few years probably due to this http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SqOWBLugj9E, which ain’t their best song anyways, here’s my favourite http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XmNMiN-SVy4 & I know Gard likes this one http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8sHWd3mqi0M&feature=related

I just think it’s a shame folk in the US don’t get too hear the best from this side of the pond.

I'm sure that there are people that think the best thing to come from the UK are the Beatles and the Bay City Rollers.

I like the Beatles but prefer the Stones but I can't stand the Bay City Rollers

Ah, New Model Army. I have one of their vinyl singles with Here Comes the War. Good stuff, even though the band leans a bit left.

NMA 'leaning to the left' is putting it midly though they've always denied they're socialists

If I didn't listen to a lot of lefty bands, my library would shrink to a fraction of its size. I like a lot of bands that I would disagree with on political or social issues.

Paul Weller use to be very left wing especially in the days of the Shite Council sorry meant Style Council http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=r7Bq9YdDVc8 these days he's far more cynical & more angry http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lkL-tRAYrFw
