Excerpt:

9 Orem lights, 900 new jobs?

How many workers does it take to install a light in Orem?

One hundred.

At least that was the number city officials submitted in a survey to Congress by the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

When the 76-year-old mayoral organization called for a list of ready-to-go infrastructure projects in November from cities across the nation, it asked for a price tag for each and — perhaps more importantly — the number of new jobs each would create.

Initial estimates that up to 1.5 million new jobs may be created during the massive stimulus recovery impressed many in Congress and gave more weight to proponents already swinging with momentum to act quickly. The White House projected 3.5 million jobs by the end of 2010.

ALL RIGHT!!!!!

Oh, and let's not forget all those 'new jobs' being 'created' in Afghanistan. right? What better career could you have than that of blowing seven shades of terror out of those no-good Middle Eastern types...

This reminds me of something in a recent pod, about how the New Dealers paid people to float balloons down city streets to scare off starlings.

At least nowadays, they can use those new-fangled foil balloons, and those last a lot longer!

There's been a few jobs 'created' with Obama's UK visit, that's for sure. Reports suggest a ridiculous entourage follows the man, wherever he goes, taking two extra Boeings to trail AF1.

Anyone got their NVQ in catering, handy? One of his private chefs might frak up - could be a job opening, soon...
