It matters not what industrialized nation you are talking about, even with a theoretical 150% tax rate on the wealthy, gubmints all over the world could maintain their current spending levels for some ridiculously short time period (a few months maybe), and nobody denies this.

So tell me why this big push to extract all this wealth?

Are they going to use it to put people back to work? Nope, no one saying that.

Are they putting toward debt reduction? All I hear are crickets.

Will they use it to actually fund our next conflict, instead of borrowing the $$ to go to war? Naaaaah, why do that when you can just order the planes and bombs and they show up if you can write a check for them or not.

Are they buying new school clothes and supplies for poverty stricken youth? Actually, there probably is already a "program" out there that does this.

I just don't get it. Take MORE money from the only people who may actually be able to have a positive influence on this ill economy? It just doesn't make sense to me.

I thought by now this class warfare rhetoric would ware itself out, but I underestimated the amplification that goes on in an election year. The people stoking this hatred and division need to understand that some day the jig will be up. Either they will tax an entire nation into poverty, or, they chase away all the producers who decide to look from afar and shrug.

When it's all gone, people are gonna figure out that the ones that HAD the money did WAAAAY better things with it than any gubmint could, and their going to be pissed. When we reach that point, to save their own tails, they will attempt to create even more division. How will they try to divide us then? By race? Skill set? Age? Sex? Religion? Lack of religion?....

Take away the money, and the stakes only go higher.
