Southern Hills K-9 offers Dog Obedience Training and Problem Solving for dogs of all ages and breeds. Our training focus is on evaluating each dog individually to determine what best motivates the dog and how to most clearly communicate with each dog. Obedience Training and Problem Solving are done at our facility so that each dog can receive custom training multiple times per day. We communicate with our clients routinely and frequently to keep them informed of the progress of obedience training and problem solving. When training is complete, our clients come to our location for a private training session to ensure that they have an understanding of our training concepts and can maintain the training their dog received.

Dog Obedience Training consists of Basic Dog Obedience Training and Advanced Dog Obedience Training. Both Basic Dog Obedience and Advanced Dog Obedience training are one month in duration.

During Basic Obedience Training each dog will learn: sit, down, stay, come, walking on a loose leash, dog socialization, and how to be social with people.

During Advanced Obedience Training each dog will learn how to perform the commands introduced in Basic Dog Obedience at a distance and for extended periods of time. When this training is complete your dog will obey commands given at a substantial distance, stay obedient to a command if you leave the dog for a substantial period of time and if you are at a great distance.

Problem Solving consist of correcting problem behaviors such as aggression, jumping, barking etc. The duration of training for Problem Solving will be determined on an individual basis based on the problem behaviors being displayed by the dog.
