Detroit Rock City Files for Bankruptcy

No surprise. But this is an opportunity for free-market, voluntary systems to fill the niche, as Karen DeCoster has been showing on her blog (THANKS, FURB!). It is also an opportunity to show people that governments are just corporations that claim the legal right to use aggressive violence against people. As opposed to private businesses and most corporations, this kind of corporation doesn't offer services and products in return for voluntary payments. It threatens to use guns and violence against people if they don't pay. It throws people in jail and takes homes if they don't pay.

Now, there are some non-government corporations that have gotten government bailouts (ex, Goldman-Sachs, GM) and all corporations are given liability protection by government laws, but we want to stress that the "state" is merely another corrupt corporation. Why would anyone say it is legitimate?

Rock on, Detroit. Don't force us to pay for your bailouts.
