WIRE are four men from Great Britain, who, in the late 1970's took music in a totally different direction. With repeated iterations of intense sounds -- be they guitar chords, bass strikes, drum hits, or vocals -- WIRE defied observers to define them. WIRE defines itself.

Moving towards a more electronic sound in the late 1980's and early 1990's, the members of WIRE stunned many. They surprised even more when, in 2000, they returned from many solo projects and completed "READ AND BURN 01", and "READ BURN 02", two seminal EP CDs that heralded a new intensity and control that punk,post-punk,noise and metal had not seen.

Their subsequent CD "SEND" is a masterpiece. Their live performances are beyond blistering, for their is an intellect inherent in the work of WIRE that becomes very apparent as one listens and notices the manner in which the group comports themselves on the web.
