What Song Would You Want to Have Played At Your Funeral?

I went to a funeral of a friend yesterday where they played this Levellers song & not this song which is on the same CD.

The previous funeral I attended they played Hendrix.

It gets me thinking what song would people want played at their funeral?

Kesshin

Since Gard is a big punk fan, I wanted to post this.

These guys are a punk band out of Paris that used to be friends of mine. But we've kind of grown apart over the years, sadly. But they make some great music.

Flag in Flames

I have a "band" of sorts (it is just me unless I play live then it is me and my friend Drew. The band is Flag in Flames and most of the time it is industrial music of some sort (sometimes more ambient, sometimes more dance) When there are lyrics they tend to be very anti state.

Today I made my first attempt at a punk song called TSA (about, you guessed it the TSA). It turned out fairly well, I did my best to channel Jello Biafra (his style of singing, not his political leanings!)

Check it out, all material is available free to download.

Ian Dury's Spasticus Autisticus

I heard Gard play Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick in the last podcast but it isn’t my favourite Ian Dury song

1981 was the UN’s International Year of Disabled Persons & well Ian a disabled person himself wrote & released a record which is still banned from being played on BBC radio Spasticus Autisticus.

It was basically Ian giving the finger watch here & good on him for doing so

Hey New Hampshire, I'm trying to change the world!

How do I contact the bloggers? I need publicity. I need help. It's easy. If I can't get the Free State people and everyone in New Hampshire on board...........uh oh.... We need to get this song on the radio.

CRUSH the opposition using the power of mass media and popular culture.

The horros

El grande!

Thanks for playing the Horrors "who can say".

I bought the album and have played it every day for the last three weeks.

The mix of Physedlic furs, the Cure and Echo and the Bunnymen with a dash of Joy Division is just mesmerizing.

Please play a snippet of the epic Sea to Sea on one of your shows.

Bad Brains!

I had never heard of Bad Brains before renting a DVD of their show at CBGB's from 1982.  Holy shit, it was a bunch of Rastafarians with some of the best punch guitar riffing and energetic spitting of lyrics I have ever encountered.  I highly recommend renting the vid.  I will be investigating this band further.
