Hello fellow conspirators. This is mothyspace speaking.
Just wanted to touch on the issue of wikileaks. I know Gard has already covered this, the story itself is still developing, as of this writing he has been arrested. Before he was arrested he wrote an article for the Australian as attached below.
What is amusing though is the fact that the media have implied that Assange is anti-war, when in his article he asserts that he is not anti-war.
He does believe in the Just War theory, so long as the Gubment gives the full story to all the people so they can make their own judgement on the matter.
He parallels the efforts of Rupert Murdoch's father Keith Murdoch in exposing the blunders in strategy at Gallipoli in World War I to the current situation with Iraq and Afghanistan with what he is exposing through wikileaks. I have to say I find this comparison compelling!
Historical and indeed organizational inertia in the meida have reached the point where the term 'lame-stream' media really does have truth to it!
The dribble that spews forth boggles the mind, when compared to the old fashioned hard hitting or as Assange himself terms it 'scientific reporting' that allows you not only to read the 'story' but the hard data behind it, if you so choose.
Some have said this is revolutionary! I would assert that its not really revolutionary at all!
It's just a return to the organic roots of journalism, indeed a re-assertion of those core values.
I understand there will be debate on that, but the advantages of wikileaks far outweigh the disadvantages.
I've stayed relatively silent on this issue, because I was still absorbing the detail of it. Have to say, I'm on Assange's side on this one. He's got allot of very powerful people running scared and they are throwing every possible weapon at him and he seems to be navigating his way through.
In the end, "innocent until proven guilty" is a legal maxim that must be adhered too, as it relates to the allegations levelled against him.
Whatever the outcome, this process of transparency must continue.

It obviously expands upon his views.
