Hello,
I just wanted to bring you attention to a bill that is trying to get passed by the senate here in NH.(Senate Bill 337)
I am a home-schooling mother, and the state is now trying to get federal money by counting my son in attendance in the school district, which would then give them an additional $2,500.00 (approximately) per home-schooled child in that district. That money would then be given to the DISTRCIT for my son, not our family. We would still have the out of pocket expenses for his books, curriculum, art classes Etc.. but the school disrtict would be getting the funding as if he were a child enrolled in a public school. They are also asking us to show "proof" of curriculum before the beginning of each home-school year, to be approved. They are trying to regulate home-schoolers more than public school teachers. Why is it that I have to jump through hoops to prove that I am teaching my son, when the reason I pulled him out of public school was due to the fact that the school was failing, not only my son, but as a whole, the school was deemed a "failing" school? Another way for the government to regulate my right to know what is best for my child!
Thanks for your time~
